Our Executive Director
Lisa Hilton of Canandaigua is the Executive Director of the South Bristol Cultural Center.
Hilton succeeds Susan Dickens who founded the South Bristol Cultural Center in 1995. Dickens, who is also a professional artist, retired from the Executive Director position and looks forward to devoting more time to family, drawing, painting, and consulting.
“I’m eager to build upon the solid foundation Sue and the board of the SBCC have constructed over the past ten years,” said Hilton. She also stated that she plans to collaborate with other local arts organizations, having served on the board of Ontario County Arts Council for the past two years. “My goals are to increase the South Bristol Cultural Center’s membership, provide even more outreach to local schools, and continue to tailor our programming to our community’s needs and interests.” She also noted the success of the Music in the Barn series and the exceptional artwork by Finger Lakes’ artists featured in the gallery.
For ten years, Lisa Hilton was employed as a manager with Barnes & Noble Booksellers. After receiving a Master’s degree from Empire State College in English/ Creative Writing, she began a new career as an adjunct English instructor with Finger Lakes Community College. Claiming that she is “committed to education”, she will continue to teach at FLCC while leading the Cultural Center.
