Programs and Events

Meet the author of "Peacemaker".  Sunday, September 20th, at 2 PM, author Brenda Duffey will donate a copy of her book, "The Peacemaker," to the Siuslaw Public Library. Duffey will be available to lead an open discussion about the book over coffee, tea and light refreshments in the main branch's large public meeting room, the Bromley Room.

"Discovering the Haunted Coast".  Back by popular demand, local ghost hunter Ann Fillmore will present "Discovering the Haunted Coast" on Saturday, October 17th, at 2 PM in the large public meeting room at the main branch, the Bromley Room.  Fillmore, the leader of Coast Ghost, a coastal paranormal organization, will discuss exciting evidence, including photos and stories, of their work investigating Oregon coast ghosts.  Lessons on ghost photography will be included, with an evening excursion afterwards to hunt for local ghosties.

Both events are free and open to the public.

 Storytimes in Mapleton:  DEARS!
Drop Everything And Read Stories!  Friday afternoon storytime at the Mapleton Branch Library is changing.  Instead of a set time for storytime, branch librarian Susie Voth will drop everything and read stories to children when they visit the library on Fridays between 1:30 and 4:30 pm.  Also, the supplies for a simple, self-directed craft will be available those afternoons for kids to make.  We ask that adults accompany young children.

Holiday Hours
No more holidays until Veteran's Day.
