Perhaps you’ve noticed the plaques on homes around town that tell you the date of a building and the name and profession of the people for whom it was built? Plaques similar to the one above? These plaques commemorate a building, and the stewardship of an owner in preserving and maintaining the home’s historic character.
If you would like your home to have this kind of recognition, the Preservation Foundation’s Historic Plaque Program can help you. We have trained volunteers who research the ownership history of your home and suggest a designation for the plaque. Once you approve the designation, we have a plaque cast in bronze. The cost of an historic plaque and the house history is $300. Please stop by the Preservation Foundation offices for a copy of the Plaque Application form.
