The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation provides education to both property owners and professionals.
Preservation 360
Our annual preservation conference includes over 30 courses on topics ranging from architectural and cultural history to practical workshops on interior and exterior restoration and landscaping. We also offer professional continuing education courses at our preservation conference. Local and regional experts teach all of our classes. Case studies of significant restoration projects highlight best practices in preserving and rehabilitating historic structures. In conjunction with the City of Saratoga Springs, we offer a series of workshops on working with the design review guidelines and process. Materials from these workshops can be downloaded from our website. Click here to go to the download page.
Marketing Historic Properties
Continuing Education for Realtors. This 4 hour class taught by planning and preservation professionals gives Realtors practical information to successfully market historic properties. Topics covered include: overview of architectural styles; what is the National Register of Historic Places; what are the local historic districts; how does Design Review work; financing programs for historic houses; and incentives and preservation programs. Realtors who attend the class receive 4 CE credits, and while they are members of the Preservation Foundation they are listed on our Historic House Specialists page on our website.

Candlelight House Tour: November 30, 2007
This annual gala event includes a tour of several homes decorated for the holidays and a cocktail reception at the historic Canfield Casino. This event is a great way to start your holiday festivities. |
