Greetings from RNH!
We hope you’ve had a happy and healthy summer kick-off! The weather isn’t the only thing warming up here in Riverdale--keep reading for some sizzling updates from RNH:
- Our Early Childhood Program just celebrated its second annual Studio in a School art installation. Teachers, guardians, and young students from our Universal Pre-Kindergarten gathered at the Dodge building to admire the beautiful exhibition. Among this year’s creations were a solar system of unusual planets, an ocean filled with friendly fish and crocodiles, and a table displaying wildly intriguing sculptures made of clay.
- June 5th marked our 13th annual Senior Splash. Over 200 seniors came to RNH’s poolside to relax, enjoy a delicious lunch, play games, and listen to a live deejay. They even danced the Electric Slide!
- The teen interns operated a carnival for the students in our After School Program on June 12th. Everyone had a great time celebrating the end of another successful school year. Click here to see some photographs from the event.
- RNH recently planted a blue spruce tree in our yard at 5521 Mosholu Avenue to honor the life and service of Ethan “Denny” Dennison. Denny’s friends and family attended the memorial ceremony, where our young students sang for the crowd.
- There’s no better way to beat the heat than with a summer at the RNH pool! Pool hours are from 10:30 AM - 8:00 PM on weekends and holidays, and from 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM on weekdays. It isn’t too late to register, but hurry--space is running out!
- Remember, if you love RNH’s neighborly service to the Riverdale community, you can help us help others by shopping through www.yellowbrickmall.com/riverdale.php. YellowBrickMall is free, safe, and easy to use. Just visit the website whenever you want to shop online, and you will be linked to hundreds of merchants that have agreed to donate a portion of your purchase to RNH. What better excuse is there to shop guilt-free?
- P.S. Have you received our Spring Appeal yet? Thank you to those who have supported our tutoring program thus far! Here’s a link to our appeal in case you missed it.
