We here at RNH hope that your new year is off to a great start. Read on to learn about what we’ve been up to so far in 2009:

• RNH has a new photo-sharing website. Visit http://riverdalenh.shutterfly.com/ to see pictures of our current events.
  
  
• Councilmember Oliver Koppell stopped by our Drop-In Program; photos of his visit are posted on our Shutterfly site.  Thanks to his efforts, RNH was able to obtain licensure through the Department of Health for our unique program, which enables parents to drop off their children at RNH in order to run errands or just relax. 
  
  
• The children in our Early Childhood Program learned about President Obama’s inauguration, and even held an all-American parade!
  
  
• Our after-school peer tutoring program is helping our young participants strive for better grades and focus on their goals.  High school students who enjoy helping elementary-aged children should call Jennifer at (718) 549-8100 x129 to discuss volunteer opportunities.
  
  
• There are still openings in our After School Program. For more information, call Kathy at (718) 549-8100 x125. ASP participants get first preference for enrollment in our popular summer camp program.
  
  
• Summer camp registration is now open.  Please call Cindy at (718) 549-8100 x153 if you are interested in registering your child.
  
  
• The deadline is fast approaching to apply for our Youth Internship Program’s spring semester. If you would like to prepare for a future career through a rewarding paid internship, download the application at /riverdaleonline/YIP Application SP-09.doc. Local businesses interested in mentoring a teen intern may call Jhanell at (718) 549-8100 x114.
  
  
• Arts to Grow--a nonprofit arts organization that works with the children in RNH’s After School Program--recently featured an article about RNH on their website.
