Spring is in the air at Riverdale Neighborhood House!


As April showers soak the Bronx, RNH has some news that will brighten your day:

• This week, our Early Childhood Program transformed RNH’s Dodge Building into an art gallery! Our young students showcased their colorful and creative projects for all to admire.

• We are seeking volunteers for our Telephone Reassurance Program to call homebound seniors in the Riverdale area. Volunteers must dedicate one morning per week to making the calls onsite at RNH. If you would like to volunteer, or if you know a senior who would benefit from the Telephone Reassurance Program, contact us at 718-549-8100 x128.

• Throughout the month of May, our Teen Center will be hosting Bomba y Plena workshops, celebrating the music and dance of the Afro-Puerto Rican culture. FREE sessions will be held on Fridays from 4:00-6:00 PM. The workshops are open to all and no experience is necessary--but you must be willing to dance! Please call 718-549-8100 x117 to reserve your space.

• Tomorrow is your FINAL chance to register for a 2009 RNH pool membership at our discounted rates. The pool will open on May 23^rd, with seven-day operations beginning on June 15^th. Pool memberships include access to our tennis and basketball courts, sprinklers, and dressing rooms with lockers and showers. Returning members can mail in a check along with a registration form, which must be postmarked by April 24^th. New members are required to sign up in person by 3:30. So stop by RNH at 5521 Mosholu Avenue to take advantage of our early bird special! If you cannot make it tomorrow and would like to arrange an appointment to register, please call 718-549-8100 x100 or e-mail office@riverdaleonline.org.
