SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Autism Specialist, is responsible for all phases of managing program services provided to participants in the Anthesis Autism Services. Executes the policies of PVW related to managing services, oversight of Individual Training Plans; in-service training for consumers and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other Duties may be assigned.
1. Works under the direct supervision of the Autism Specialist
2. May be assigned by the Autism Specialist to act as supervisor for other program areas in the absence of management staff.
3. Participates in recruitment and training of program staff. Responsible for performance evaluations of assigned staff.
4. Serves as Case Responsible Person, representing the AAS program to Regional Centers for Developmentally Disabled.
5. Serves as liaison with community, public, non-profit organizations, representing the agency in a professional manner.
6. Coordinates staff development for AAS program staff; conducts in-service training for PVW employees as
7. needed to meet agency goals.
8. Assists in the development and execution of agency program evaluation of goals, objectives, and effectiveness measure of services.
9. Assists in the preparation of program budget and cost statements for AAS.
10. Maintains current and running record of unit meetings. Maintains filing system of departmental issues, organizational and inter-agency committee meetings, incidents reports, discharge summaries, etc.
11. Maintains personnel and consumer records in accordance with confidentiality standards.
12. Must maintain valid CPR and first aid certification.
13. Assures that consumer rights and confidentiality are respected by PVW staff. Responsible for the quality of case records in accordance with systems and procedures of the agency.
14. Serves as member of the Intake Committee and Eligibility Committee.
15. May serve as Case Manager for assigned caseload.
16. Provides technical assistance and support to program staff regarding program services.
17. Under the direction of the Autism Specialist, aids in development and monitors use of appropriate consumer assessment materials.
18. Assures prompt handling, reporting, and follow-though on incidents concerning consumer safety, injury, or other special situations to the Autism Specialist and all appropriate family, residential facility staff, and referring agency personnel.
19. Responsible for AAS program compliance with all policies, systems, and procedures of PVW as well as standards of accreditation, DDS regulations, and other regulatory agencies.
20. Responsible for performance of staff assigned to AAS programs as Case Managers, Program Assistants and Life Skills Access Coaches.
21. Responsible for compliance with the safety standards of the agency including general authority and supervision of injury and illness prevention program in AAS programs, including all program staff, volunteers, and other personnel assigned. Allocates necessary resources, assures hazards are abated in a timely manner.
22. Responsible for prompt reporting of injuries and other safety issues to the Director of Human Resources and the Autism Specialist.
23. Responsible for compliance with regional center requirements and Department of Developmental Services program regulations.
24. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages positions such as case manager, job developer, life skills access coach. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; Responsibilities include interviewing and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a bachelors degree in human services field and eighteen (18) months experience in management OR must possess five (5) years experience in human services field, including at least two (2) years in management or supervisory position OR equivalency. 1 year of experience must reflect work with persons diagnoses with Autism Spectrum Disorder or persons exhibiting similar characteristics. Must possess valid California Drivers License, three (3) years driving experience, good driving record, proof of current vehicle insurance/registration and dependable transportation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability re read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Ability of effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consumers, staff, and the general public; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to develop, compose, and implement procedures, management reports, Individual Training Plans, related reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using while number, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid California Driver’s License; Must meet eligibility criteria of the State of California Community Care Licensing.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to manage professional staff and to work as a member of the management team. Demonstrated ability to provide staff training, supervision, and planning. Demonstrated ability to work well with persons with disabilities, elderly persons, families, representatives of residential facilities, and referring agency staff.
