This newspaper is published by Pikeville Medical Center and is the region’s highest circulated newspaper, reaching more than 50,000 readers! It is mailed, free of charge, to every home in Pike and Floyd Counties in eastern Kentucky. We praise God for this extraordinary opportunity to deliver the glorious message of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to every home in these two counties, cost free. Text Box: On November 5th and 6th PCBC will be celebrating “Israel Appreciation Weekend”. Rev. Allen Lord, Director of Advancement for International Board of Jewish Missions, and his wife Elaine will be our special guests. The festivities will begin on Saturday night with a Jewish dinner featuring traditional Jewish cuisine. After the dinner, there will be a PowerPoint presentation by Rev. American culture has gradually been transformed from one that was accommodating and supportive, to one that is antagonistic toward the message of the gospel and those who bear it. Scripture is replete with examples of those who have suffered beatings, imprisonment, torture, and even death for their commitment to sharing the truth of God. The time has come that we Americans, who name the name of the Lord Jesus, take our stand with our counterparts in ages past and cultures present. We, too, must be willing to pay the cost of discipleship, even when it means losing our job, being expelled from school, or being thrown in jail. We must “...Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:” (Acts 18:9); for, like Peter, “...We ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29) America needs to hear! “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing as unto a faithful Creator.” (I Peter 4:19)
