Newark Renaissance Trees Program Fall 2007 Season:
- October 5th: Partnered with Shiloh Baptist Church, Shiloh
Rainbow Academy, and residents of the neighborhood to plant 43 shrubs
and one new tree around the church. Four and five year olds from
the Academy assisted NJTF with the planting, mulching, and watering of
their new gardens. The new tree was planted to celebrate the
100th anniversary of the church's presence in the community.
Newark Renaissance Trees Program Summer 2007 Landscaping Project:
- August 28th: Partnered with Trinity Reformed
Church, IYO-Youth Corps of Newark, and residents of the neighborhood to
plant 91 shrubs and perennials around the church. This project
was to support the work of the community in restoring the church as a
whole. The NJTF assisted by providing plant material to enhance
the beauty and the spirit of the community.
   
  
  
Newark Renaissance Trees Program Spring 2007 Season:
*All plantings made possible through the committment and
assistance of the City of Newark, Engineering & Shade Tree
Operations.
- April 14th: Partnered with Tri-City People's
Corporation, Essex County Parks, West Side Park Conservancy, IYO-Youth
Corps of Newark, and volunteers to plant 40 trees total in West Side
Park (25 trees within the park and 15 trees along S. 17th Street)
   
- April 21st: Partnered with Fleetwood Place
Tri-Block Association, residents, and volunteers to reforest Fleetwood
Place and Mountain View Place with 18 small maple trees.

May 12th: Partnered with local businesses,
residents, IYO-Youth Corps, and volunteers to plant a variety of 31
shade and flowering trees along 18th Avenue to enhance economic
development.
 
- May 12th - 16th: Partnered with NJTF staff and
Newark Shade Tree Operations employees to plant 12 adopted trees at
residences throughout the City of Newark.

of the City of Newark, Engineering & Shade Tree Operations.
- November 11th: Partnered with IYO-Youth Corps of
Newark, residents, and volunteers to plant 23 trees along South 12th
Street, Woodland Avenue, and Pierce Street.

- November 17th: Partnered with IYO-Youth Corps of
Newark, Cleveland Elementary School, and 65 fourth & fifth grade
students to plant 14 trees and 250 flower bulbs to beautify the
school. Students also participated in a hands-on, tree hike to
learn about their community forest, provided by WILD Jersey.
