Keynote Address
Eric
Rowles

is the President and CEO of Leading to Change, a nationally recognized training and consulting agency that has worked with over 100,000 youth and professionals in the afterschool field in the past 15 years. Mr. Rowles previously held the position of Senior Director of Training with the Youth Leadership Institute where he designed and developed a national training institute. He also served as the Director of Leadership Development at Rutgers University and managed his own private training and educational theater organization, Leadership Through Motivation Productions. He spent five years as a substance abuse prevention coordinator, six years as the Director of International Youth Summer Abroad programs, and has over a decade of experience as a professional DJ and event producer.

Eric has provided training for the National Conference on Community & Justice, Teaching Tolerance, National Defamation League, Communities In Schools, America’s Promise, Donors Choose, and the United Way. Eric has been a faculty member at UNC-Charlotte and Rutgers University, and has published over twenty nationally distributed publications on the importance of afterschool work. Eric holds dual BA degrees in
Ethnic and Cultural Studies and Sociology/Psychology/Anthropology/Philosophy, as well as a MS degree in Educational Leadership and Design. Eric lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife and two daughters.

Capnote Address
Mike Minter

An All-Pro Safety and team captain, Minter has lived the highs of playing in the Super Bowl and the lows of a team that won only one game in 16. Playing his entire career with the Carolina Panther’s (drafted in 1997), the All-Pro Safety officially retired on August 7, 2007 but not before becoming the Carolina Panther’s all-time leader in forced fumbles and was ranked among the team’s leading tacklers almost every season.

Minter and NFL partners began Ruckus House Learning Center which provides faith-based childcare, skill development and learning for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years and currently serves hundreds of children from two locations just north of Charlotte, NC. Plans are underway to provide quality care and education to even more children through additional locations throughout the US.

As an aspiring pastor, Mike Minter gives all credit for his accomplishments to God. “You know that you are doing everything for His glory, and not yours,” Minter stated. This man with a reputation for unprecedented integrity takes his faith with him wherever he goes--the football field, the altar and the boardroom.

As a dynamic motivational speaker, Minter’s insights are unique, he makes his listeners laugh and think while encouraging them to find their true purpose in life.
