Position Title

Executive Director

We seek a highly qualified Executive Director to provide the leadership, vision, and strategic planning to assure the continued success and stability of MHS. Based at our headquarters in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, your responsibilities will include providing leadership in developing innovative programs to help our clients meet their potential; managing complex funding and fee for service partnerships; providing agency focused advocacy in the community; and creating a climate that fosters innovation and collaboration. You will also lead and manage the technology, finance, and human resource teams.

The successful candidate will have the proven ability to successfully lead a non-profit organization with demonstrated strategic planning, financial management and agency operations experience. Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills; demonstrated consensus building and collaborating; and highly effective communication and presentation skills are also critical to your success. A Masters degree in Business, Social Work, Psychology, or Related Field with at least eight years of hands-on nonprofit leadership experience is required. Preferred credentials also include experience in helping individuals with severe mental illness, and knowledge of the social services arena.

Homeless Assistance Program Manager 2 - IDDT and Forensic Services

This Program Manager leads the implementation and operation of MHS' Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) Model and Forensic Services. Provides administrative direction and service coordination for Substance Abuse/Mental Illness (SAMI) clients involved in any MHS homeless program.

Qualified candidates must have a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field, a minimum of five years professionally supervised work in the delivery of mental health, chemical dependency and/or social services, and be licensed as an LISW or LPCC.

Bilingual skills are a plus. Work hours may be non-traditional. Applicants must have an Ohio driver license with fewer than six points, proof of insurance meeting the requirements of Ohio's Financial Responsibility Act, and the ability to drive to sites of service throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

Child Trauma Services Counselor

This Counselor will work with our Child Trauma Services Team providing mobile crisis assessment, crisis and trauma intervention, and counseling services for children who have experienced traumatic events. Successful candidates will have experience formulating treatment recommendations and individualized service plans, a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field, a minimum of one year professionally supervised work in the delivery of mental health, chemical dependency and/or social services, and be licensed as an LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC.

Child and Family Focused Services (CFFS) Program Specialist 4

This Specialist will join our Child and Family Focused Services program, providing rehabilitative support to families by helping them formulate and achieve short-term goals based on a plan completed by social workers of the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. The Specialist will provide and/or ensure the provision of all community support services identified on the plan, including housing, income support, health insurance maintenance, and other significant social service needs.

Successful candidates will have experience formulating treatment recommendations and individualized service plans, a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field, a minimum of one year professionally supervised work in the delivery of mental health, chemical dependency and/or social services, and be licensed as an LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC.

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant will support our Executive Director, Board of Trustees, and Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, take-charge administrative professional with exceptional communication skills who competently performs a variety of highly-accountable and confidential tasks. Tasks include scheduling and maintaining the Executive Director’s itinerary, performing secretarial and clerical work, and assisting in the development of the agency through involvement in fund raising, special events, and community relations. This mature professional will also provide effective guidance and instruction to internal and external clientele conducting business with MHS.

Required is a minimum of five-years relevant work experience, a High School diploma, the ability to accurately type 45 words per minute, and proficiency in the MicroSoft office window based computer programs Associate’s degree in Business or Office Management preferred. Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and operational vehicle are highly preferred.

This is an exempt from overtime, non-union, salaried, and highly confidential position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Community Women's Shelter, 2nd-Shift Coordinator

Monday-Friday
3:00-11:30 p.m.

The MHS Community Women's Shelter provides homeless women and children with a safe shelter environment and the supportive services to help women achieve housing, health, increased income, and self determination.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field. An Ohio LSW is highly preferred. Six years of applicable work experience could be substituted for the degree. Must have five years experience working with women, and at least one year of supervisory experience. Organizational and documentation skills must be impeccable.

Applicants must have an Ohio driver license with fewer than six points, proof of insurance meeting the requirements of Ohio's Financial Responsibility Act, the ability to drive to sites of service throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and the ability to work non-traditional hours.

Part-Time Specialists for the Community Women's Shelter

Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
and
Friday, 5-10:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Qualified individuals must possess at least two years of experience with women in residential, mental health, or homeless assistance services, and have impeccable written and oral communication skills.

Applicants must have an Ohio driver license with fewer than six points, proof of insurance meeting the requirements of Ohio's Financial Responsibility Act, the ability to drive to sites of service throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and the ability to work non-traditional hours.

Registered Nurse,
serving clients of MHS homeless shelters.

The Registered Nurse provides medical and mental health services to a broad range of clients. Through provision of services, the Registered Nurse assists homeless persons with disabling conditions to achieve and maintain health, recovery, and independence in the community. The successful candidate must be licensed as an RN in the State of Ohio. Candidates must meet and maintain compliance with Ohio's Financial Responsibility Act, and drive to service sites throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) Program Specialists for

(1) Safe Haven II, (2) Northpoint Transitional Housing Center, and (3) Kingsway Manor

Three CPST Program Specialists are needed to provide rehabilitative and supportive services for our Community Support program, serving clients of our permanent housing programs.

Program Specialists must meet Ohio Department of Mental Health provider qualifications, and be skilled in the coordination of care and services with providers of various disciplines from other programs and organizations.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field. Some of these positions do not require licensure. Candidates must have at least one year of professionally supervised experience in mental health or chemical dependency services. An Ohio driver license with fewer than six points, proof of insurance meeting the requirements of Ohio's Financial Responsibility Act, and a reliable vehicle are also required.

Crisis Intervention Specialists

Crisis Intervention Specialists provide hotline, suicide prevention, crisis assessment, and crisis intervention services. One is needed for the 24/7 operations of our Mobile Crisis Team. MCT services were the basis for the nation's first scientific demonstration of the effectiveness of community-based crisis intervention services. (For a summary, click here.) Services are provided at the client's home, worksite, and other settings in the community. Services require effective and responsive collaboration with other healthcare providers.

The CIS must meet Ohio Department of Mental Health provider qualifications. The CIS has the knowledge, skills, and experience required to conduct crisis and diagnostic assessments, and to formulate diagnoses using DSM-IV criteria. The CIS makes treatment recommendations based on assessment information and knowledge of available resources that minimize risks to the client and community. The CIS selects and conducts crisis intervention services, works with clients to develop service plans, and monitors the effectiveness of the plan. Requires an Ohio driver license with fewer than six points, the ability to drive to sites of service throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and the ability to work non-traditional hours.
