Kelly, I hope at Dana Farber you were sent to my surgeon Dr. Cavillo she is wonderful, I also hope that you are better & holding on to your serenity as I sensed you have in your message. I had my 3 surgery on 11/7/08 I got my 2mm clearance. Now I have the problem of deciding what to do. I have DCIS Stage II because my Sentinel & the other lymph node are positive. I have decided not to have the lymph nodes removed based on a Sloane's study which gives me only 17% chance of spreading, am I wrong in that choice? Should I do chemo? I really don't want to do it. I am a 67 years old woman, only 20 years or so left of life I think; what are the side effects of radiation therapy? I met with the oncologist this past Monday 11/17 he was going to call me with the results of my odds question, but today is Wed & he still has NOT called. Shouldn't I be doing radio right away since my cancer is in the lymph nodes already? Please give me your imput. Thank you!!
