I was interviewed by a nurse but found I could not be part of the study because I was already taking evista. When the nurse found out I would not be eligible to be part of the study she told me to keep taking evista because they had found that it was effective for preventing breast cancer but they had not finished their clinical trials yet so could not claim it publically. I have been on for at least 9 years. I have not had any blood clots. I also have not had any breast cancer although I have had many biopsy's. My mother died of Breast cancer and my daughter has just been diagnosed with breast ca. Neither one of them took evista. I believe it has kept me cancer free. I have had no problems on it and when the Dr suggested perhaps it was time to stop taking it I refused to let him take me off of it. I believe in it.
