Hey Mary,
Sorry to hear about your pain. I had horrendous joint pain after only a few weeks on Femara. I had to stop taking the drug, and after 4 months ,I still have the pain. Maybe it wasn't from the aromatase inhibitor(AI) after all.

I don't see how having a hysterectomy would help. AIs are only used by postmenopausal women.They work by blocking hormones produced by other parts of the body (such as the adrenal glands) from being converted into estrogen.
In fact, I had my ovaries removed so that I could take an AI.
Maybe one of the other AIs(Femara or Aromisin) would cause less pain for you.
