Programs & Services

Spanish/Español

L.U.N.A.’s programs and services have been designed with the fundamental goals of survival, empowerment, and freedom from violence in mind. The following are offered to all women who seek our assistance regardless of race, country of origin, religious background, economic situation, or preferred language. L.U.N.A.’s advocates speak both English and Spanish, and will work with you to decide which services may be most beneficial to you.

24-Hour Crisis Line
Certified domestic violence and sexual assault advocates are available to answer your call 24 hours per day, seven days per week. If you are a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault and need immediate assistance, please do not hesitate to contact L.U.N.A.’s crisis line. Our advocates will work with you to ensure your physical safety and emotional well-being.

One-On-One Counseling
Our domestic violence and sexual assault advocates will provide you with one-on-one counseling at your request. As a survivor of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, you may need additional support in dealing with all of the challenges of leaving or surviving an abusive relationship.

Group Counseling
L.U.N.A. provides on-going support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a group atmosphere. The group is designed to foster support for and among survivors in a safe, comfortable environment.

Safety Planning
If you choose to seek help, L.U.N.A.’s advocates will assist you in identifying resources within your community that will ensure your safety. Safety planning includes becoming familiar with local law enforcement resources, identifying friends, neighbors, and family members that may be of assistance, as well as local safe houses or shelters that may be used in emergency situations.

Court Advocacy
L.U.N.A.’s advocates are ready to assist you in seeking legal action against your abuser or aggressor at your request. If you choose to seek legal assistance, the process may seem overwhelming. L.U.N.A.’s trained and experienced advocates are available, however, to help you navigate the legal system and to support you in your decision to take action.

Personal Economic Planning
L.U.N.A. offers Personal Economic Planning (PEP) trainings to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault several times per year. PEP trainings are designed to empower you, as a survivor, to make sound economic decisions and to plan for the financial futures of yourself and your children.

Community Referrals
L.U.N.A. will assist in connecting you with resources throughout the community for aid with necessities such as housing, medical care, employment, English as a Second Language, immigration rights and applications, childcare, and other forms of public assistance on an individual basis. We will work to assist you in building a life free from violence.

Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Training
Survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault often feel the desire to help other women with similar experiences. Once healing and empowerment have taken place for a survivor, L.U.N.A. encourages women to participate in training related to domestic violence and sexual assault so that they may in turn work with the agency and in the community as volunteers.
