Theo Stripling is a first-year, full-time, ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) VOCAL AmeriCorps member, who serves at Literacy Volunteers of Illinois and IYC – Warrenville. At LVI, Theo is the Program Associate in Public Relations and Marketing.  He edits the Eye on the IYC newsletter, solicits donations for SCRABBLE for Literacy and develops Public Relations activities for LVI and Jump Start.  He tutors once a week in reading, writing and math at IYC – Warrenville. 

Before becoming a VOCAL member, Theo worked in the Admissions department at Rasmussen College and was a Communications Intern at IBERIABANK. 

Theo’s community involvement includes volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity and at St. Joseph’s Diner. 

He enjoys traveling, piano and sports. Theo says, “I feel that life is all about learning. Just as many of our learners are expanding their minds, I aspire to as well!”

He holds a B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Lafayette.
