Rembrandt created one of the greatest visual accounts of the Old and New
Testament. The broken-ness of his own life caused him to have much yearning
for the compassion of Christ and the richness, also, of the Old Testament.
Fond and highly respectful of Jewish person, Rembrandt lived
in a Jewish section
and also did a collaborative work, an illustrated book, with
Rabbi Menasseh ben Israel, on the place of "The Rock" in the theology of
the Old Testament.
What has this to do with Risen? Trevor, in teaching a series now on Jesus,
once more digs into the Hebraic foundation of Cristology and the
Judaic substance from which comes the meaning of Christianity.
