After an intense period of working closely from Renoir studies, Darlene launched into an interpretative series of nudes.



Art materials can become scarce so Darlene moved from canvas to graphite on paper, then oil on paper.

Ironically, this seemed to spark yet more freedom in her imaginative response to, and departure from, the Renoirs she had so intently observed.

While the oils were still wet, this painting was scanned and reformatted with the intent to effect a version of the image in richly pigmented, transmuted, digital prints.
