Vachelle McFarland. October 10, 2003. New Member, Lamp Art Project.

Vachelle has been doing art his entire life.
He explains that he has never done so in a normal Academic Situation.

His portfolio reveals an unapologetic equal and, some might have it,
opposite involvement in a painterly abstraction, and then a representationality
rendered in colored pencils.

In one of his renderings of a beauty by the beach, Vachelle adhered
generous amounts of actual sand to his painting surface with glue and acrylics.

Vachelle also has been an activist regarding rights of those marginalized
through homelessness and is verbally eloquent and powerful in his
depiction of the energetics of racism in this dynamic.

Vachelle formulated and voiced his activism while himself living in the
vortex of homelessness.
