| Home-to-Home Foster Care Program
Hopevale, Inc. is more than a residential treatment center. One of our newest segments is the Home-to-Home Foster Care program which offers both Regular and Therapeutic placements.
Children in Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) have higher level of needs that include multiple behavioral and emotional problems, social and educational lags, medical issues and a highly consistent and structured environment. Many of these children need to be taught skills at a very basic level and need a great deal of supervision and attention. A letter from a psychiatrist, psychologist or pediatrician recommending this level of care is required prior to placement.
Regular Foster Care is available to any child in care that needs a safe and supportive home. Children come to our program in different ways either as a step down from TFC from county referrals or as a 30-day urgent access placement.
Our Foster Care program serves girls and boys ages 0 to 21 years of age. Foster parents in the Home to Home program are dually certified to provide therapeutic and traditional foster care services and must complete 24 hours of training each year for each program.
The biggest challenge facing the Home-to-Home program is recruiting foster families. Single parents and those employed outside the home are welcome to apply to be foster parents. Through the dedication of our foster families and Home-to-Home staff, this program will continue to grow in the coming future.
