| Counseling Department
A major component of treatment for residents at Hopevale is meeting with their Counselor. Formerly called Social Workers, our Counselors meet with every resident in the cottages. Counselors work with residents to improve their coping skills and help them assimilate into life, Hopevale and society once they leave campus. Also, there is a focus on residents and their families to make life style changes in order for their children to be more successful upon their return home. Due to this increased focus, we have added three Family Specialist positions to the department.
Another development is the new and improved Behavior Modification System to help residents follow their treatment goals as well as advance through the system at a pace consistent with their level of ability.
