Volunteers
Without our volunteers our program would not operate

Volunteers are used for teaching:
| Reading |
|
| English |
|
| Basic Computer Skills |
|
| English as a Second Language |
|
| Family Literacy |
|
These volunteers are matched with a student for one-on-one tutoring. They usually spend from 1 to 1 1/2 hours per session learning to read or to use the computer.
Tutors must be willing to dedicate at least a year to the student.
How to Become a Volunteer!
H.E.L.P. is always looking for new volunteers to help with reading, computer, or family literacy programs. These volunteers should have a compassion to help improve the lives of their neighbors.
To volunteer, come by the H.E.L.P. office for an interview. You will then be put on a list for tutor training that is held three times per year. In some circumstances, the tutor is matched with the student without first having the training.
