Grantmaking Philosophy
Fund for Idaho is a grant-making foundation started by activists in order to build a more civil, just, and sustainable Idaho. Our grants are a catalyst for lasting change in our state, moving toward a more compassionate, environmentally sound and healthy society.
Fund for Idaho's democratic grantmaking process places our grant-making decisions in the hands of a committee of activists and philanthropists. Our grant-making process relies on the wisdom and experience of both the donor community AND those engaged in the on-the-ground work, in order to direct funding to organizations addressing root causes of problems.
