Mission Statement
FoodLink is committed to ending hunger by providing healthy food and nutrition education to those in need through community involvement.
Who We Are
FoodLink for Tulare County, a nonprofit organization, has been working to end hunger in Tulare County since 1978. FoodLink warehouses and distributes millions of pounds of food annually to a network of more than 80 local nonprofit agencies, which directly feed needy families. In 2008, food distributed through FoodLink's efficient network of food collection, preservation, and distribution reached more than 100,000 people, with more than two thirds of those served being children.
But food distribution alone is not enough to end hunger in our area. FoodLink also works to combat hunger through hunger-relief advocacy, and to eliminate its long-term effects through proper nutrition and health education.

Code of Ethics
We are always mindful that our ability to achieve our mission relies upon the faith and trust of the general public. As an organization we constantly strive to meet the highest standards of excellence and operate under a code of business and professional ethics that honors our public support. Ethical conduct is part of every employee’s job and a source of public confidence. It is the benchmark against which everyone must ultimately test all decisions.
FoodLink has adopted a shared set of core values that give guidance to the organization as to how to achieve our vision of No Child Goes Hungry. These values provide a standard of expected behavior and a framework for decision-making for the staff, volunteers, and partners. They are, therefore, the foundation of our Code of Ethics.
FoodLink’s Core Values
Collaboration: We believe in the power of community. We collaborate and build strong relationships, based on trust, with and among those who share our vision of No Child Goes Hungry. We work together to accomplish the vision at the national and local levels, valuing each other’s roles and using an open process and honest communication. We seek out and are responsive to the input and counsel of our partners.
Respect: We respect the inherent worth and dignity of every person and treat all with justice, equity, and compassion. We honor the lives, concerns, and stories of people in need and expect our partners to do the same. We accept one another and encourage diversity of thoughts and ideas.
Integrity: We act with honesty, trust, and openness, and deliver on commitments. We act within the spirit of agreements, contracts, and the law. Our intentions and actions will be transparent and above reproach.
Service: We believe service is fundamental to creating a hunger-free community. We serve with excellence, compassion and responsiveness to meet the needs of our constituents .The better we serve, the more people we bring together in commitment to our vision.
Stewardship and Accountability: We keep faith with the public trust through the efficient and compassionate use of resources entrusted to us and are mindful that our mission is accomplished through the generosity of others. We maintain and communicate accurate and timely information on hunger research, education, advocacy and service. We evaluate and account regularly for how resources are used to implement and achieve our mission.
