"Always caring,

Always sharing"

Friday at the Fountain Volunteer

 ------------------------------------------

For every $1 donated, 10 lbs. of food

(or 7 meals) are provided to

Americans in need.

We need a few minutes of your time. Please become an advocate against hunger by visiting www.hungeractioncenter.org/hungeractionmonth/comm-email.aspx and help the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula win a truck load of food for our community.  The food banks with the most accumulated advocate minutes at the end of September will win a truckload of food from Kraft Foods! It only takes a minute to help fight hunger.

Macy's and Feeding America are partnering to fight hunger.  Macy's has a long history of supporting hunger relief in the United States and has donated millions of pounds of food through its employee "Bag Hunger" campaign since 1998. This fall, Macy's will continue its national fight against hunger by supporting Feeding America and its network of local food banks through the COME TOGETHER campaign. To get involved,  there will be three ways that Macy's will ask customers

to participate:

HOST -- A Dinner Party in support of Feeding America

GIVE -- $1 donation in all Macy's stores at registers

SHOP -- Shop for A Cause on Saturday, October 17th.  If you are interested in

purchasing a $5 Shopping Pass that entitles you to 20% and 25% off merchandise,

and a chance to win a $500 Macy's gift card, please give me a call at 757.596.7188.

The entire $5 stays with the Foodbank to provide more meals for our community

and you get to save money while shopping.  It's a Win, Win event.

This event is three days of Medieval-themed family fun, camping, and autumn splendor.  Harvest Faire is a modern interpretation of a late 15th century European fall harvest celebration and tournament.
In addition to the Foodbank needing volunteers for parking, Harvest Faire is also seeking talented people for staff and entertainment positions for the annual Renaissance Fair.  Family
friendly Medieval or Renaissance

performances are sought as well as volunteer runners, helpers, storytellers, activity guides,  watchmen and, watchwomen.  Experience not necessary, training can be provided.  For more information or to become involved, please contact:
