  • As of mid June, 2008, pre-sale of the cookbook soared to over 23,000!  That generated $395,000 to pass thru to the food banks.
  • U.S. Foodservice’s first national event kicked off May 5th with the release of their “Recipes from the Heart” cookbook.  Complete with forward by Paula Deen, queen of southern cooking and host of The Food Network’s Paula’s Home Cooking, this 300+ page, full color cookbook will make a wonderful addition to any culinary collection.

  • Each network member was sent a cookbook.
  • Net proceeds from the sale of the cookbook will be donated to America’s Second Harvest. 
  • A "200 Cookbook Challenge" has been set in place.  Any food bank, even those not in the U.S. Foodservice service areas, that orders 200+ cookbooks will have the profits passed thru to that food bank.  The retail price of the cookbook is $24.99 and a total of $16.89 will be passed back to America's Second Harvest.  Orders can be placed at www.fullplatesfulllives.com.  For tracking purposes, although U.S. Foodservice will note the 200+ orders, please also contact Fredi Schlagel at fschlagel@secondharvest.org when orders of that size are placed.
