The Ferguson Center for the Arts in Newport News has partnered with the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula to collect items for its "Spotlight on Hunger" food drive.
Concert-goers may bring nonperishable food items to events at the Christopher Newport University performing arts center. The drive will continue through the Dec. 20 Glenn Miller Orchestra concert.
Donation boxes will be in the lobby of the Ferguson Center's Concert Hall and Music & Theatre Hall. Items may be dropped off at the center's ticket office located in the Music & Theatre Hall lobby.
The Ferguson Center also is accepting financial donations on behalf of the Foodbank. Checks should be made out to "Foodbank" and mailed to "Spotlight on Hunger" Food Drive, Ferguson Center for the Arts, 1 University Place, Newport News, VA, 23606.
The Foodbank provides services to needy individuals in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg and the counties of Gloucester, James City, Mathews, Surry and York. For more information please visit www.fergusoncenter.org.
