2008 Fort Dupont Summer ICE Camp

To maximize quality and fun, each weekly session is limited to 50 campers.
 
Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Before Care: 8:00 - 9:00 am
After Care: 3:00 - 6:00 pm
 
 
The Fort Dupont Summer ICE Camp offers a choice of one to four weeks of athletic and artistic fun that will include: 
  • Ice & Inline Skating! Skating instruction for all skill levels, including: gearing up, falling techniques, skating forwards and backwards, stopping, and turning. Campers learn about equipment maintenance, safety and fitness, and they are introduced to games and activities that enhance the skating experience, such as ICE-Ball, DC's most exciting new sport!

    Equipment is provided: ice & inline skates, gloves, helmets, wrist guards, knee pads, elbow pads. Campers may bring their own equipment. Clothing needed for skating: two pairs of socks each day, long pants, a long sleeve shirt/jacket for ice skating. No ankle socks or jeans.
     
  • Culture & Global Community! Campers will experience activities that increase global awareness, including Tai Chi, Yoga, Kung Fu and games from around the world. 
  • Art & The Environment! Campers will explore ECO-Arts -- making all-natural paints and natural craft projects. They will also explore Fort Dupont Park's hiking trails, identify plants and have scavenger hunts.
Age: 6 to 15 years old (child must be 6 years old by July 1st.)
Fees:
$125 per week for each child (no sibling discounts)
Before Care: $10 per week for each child
After Care: $25 per week for each child
 
Fee includes: ice skates, inline skates, safety equipment, lunch, snack, t-shirt, inline bag, water bottle, and art supplies. (Need-based scholarships are available.) $50 deposit due at registration.
 
Is your child interested in being a Junior Counselor? The Junior Counselor Program is a great opportunity for youth ages 13-15 to work with young campers, undertake responsibility, and develop leadership skills. JC's receive training, participate in camp activities, and pay a reduced rate of $50 a week. Parents must fill out a camp registration form and a JC application.
