ERCPCP VIP Role
To facilitate the process of development and implementation of the Violence intervention Partnership an integrated strategic approach. To facilitate the mission of the East of the River Violence Intervention Partnership (VIP); ERCPCP will take the lead in recruiting community partners, conducting and facilitating meetings. ERCPCP will moderate weekly meetings to ensure community ownership. This will also involve conducting outreach to involve all stakeholders, faith-based institutions, community partners and law enforcement. In addition, ERCPCP will track, evaluate and monitor all participants and recommendations made by partners. ERCPCP will assist in maintaining the VIP list serve and act as the coordinating source of the VIP.
The VIP will address youth violence issues using the following approach:
a)Proactive Approach
Focus on addressing incidents of violence involving youth that are potentially volatile situations among youth and families within the community, and are crew/gang related. (Referred youth and before a critical incident)
b)Reactive Approach
Approach focused on immediate response to incidents of violence using intervention, mediations, suppression and family stabilization. (After a critical incident)
Process Outcomes Highlights
11 Full Body VIP Meetings (YTD)
The purpose of the VIP Full Body Meeting is to increase communication, improve information flow and facilitate strategic discussion between core partners and community stakeholders committed to a collaborative approach for combating gang and crew related violence in Wards 7 and 8 (ROC East.)
34 Critical Response Team Meetings (YTD)
The Critical Response Team meets within 24 hours of any suspected or confirmed gang/crew related incident in ROC East. These meetings are designed to facilitate rapid exchange of information concerning the incident, the people involved, underlying background, and to discuss strategies for dispute mediation, conflict resolution and de-escalation of recurring violence.

18 Outreach and Response Team meetings (YTD)
Outreach and Response Team Meeting are conducted on a weekly basis to discuss proactive approaches for addressing crew-related activity, strategic planning and follow-up on all VIP cases.
34 various committee/community meetings (YTD) with over 500 hundred community youth and residents in attendance.
The purpose of committee meetings are to focus on protocol, polices & procedures governing the development and implementation of the VIP strategy. Committee is formed through feedback during full body meeting.
Performance Outcomes (Intervention, Mediation and Referrals)
The purpose of the intervention and mediation referrals has been to conduct outreach & family case management services for victims and perpetrators of crew-related violent crimes , deter retaliation, and to create a support a network that will focus on life skills training, increase problem solving skills, and develop non-violent approaches to conflict resolution.
86 MPD Referrals and law enforcement responses Resulting efforts led to service delivery and focused law enforcement activities benefiting the community and families effected directly by Violence.

100% of referrals offered and or received services.

30 ERFSC referrals 85% of Families referred Excepted services, 50% of those have completed there goals in 06’)

56 Peaceoholics referrals & 30 mediations Over 500 youth served 125 youth representing 15 crews, involved in ongoing intervention and youth development activities
ERCPCP 1450 youth and community resident involved in ongoing youth development and community activities. Employed over 40 SYEP workers at community based program in ward 7 & 8.
