2007 Community Health & Needs Assessment

The Davie County Health Department, Healthy Carolinians and the Davie County United Way joined forces in 2007 to conduct a Community Health and Needs Assessment. This process engaged multiple agencies and organizations as well as community members in identifying and evaluating health and other issues in the county. It resulted in the downloadable document above that can be used as a guide for program planning, policy development, budgets, and other efforts directed at addressing identified community issues.

Community members were surveyed at random within Davie County through the use of hand-held technology and pairs of survey takers who covered the county. In addition, civic groups and agencies providing services, known as Stakeholders, were also interviewed. Interested parties can download a copy of both survey's below:

Below is the schedule of events that was followed to ensure the completion of the Health & Needs Assessment:

Information from the Needs Assessment is currently being used to help identify the most pressing health and human issues in Davie County.

Compliation of the Needs Assessment was completed by UNC Chapel Hill using three viewpoints: Community Survey Respondents; Socio-economic Data and Stakeholder Interviews.
