Who We Are


Freedom House is an Emergency Shelter for survivors of domestic violence with disabilities or survivors who have children with disabilities. We are equipped to serve people with all kinds of disabilities, from physical to emotional to recovering substance abusers. We have staff fluent in English, Spanish and American Sign Language.
   

How We Help

Freedom House boasts a dynamic interdisciplinary staff of social workers, creative arts therapists, case managers, occupational therapists and recreation aides who are dedicated to creating a safe and accessible facility for all families.


We Offer Our Residents a Host of Tools Including:
•    Safety Planning
•    Stress-Reduction Groups
•    Skill-Building Groups
•    Legal Advocacy and Referrals
•    Positive Parenting Program
•    Occupational Therapy

Children's Services
Freedom House offers an emergency child care center. Our balanced program bring together a multitude of activities that foster a love of learning and a positive self-image in children at every age level.
 
Freedom House Children’s Services Include:
•    Individual and group counseling
•    Referrals to preventive services
•    Healing recreational activities for children
•    Assessments for children who have witnessed domestic violence
     (including mental health disorders and developmental issues)

Deaf Services

Freedom House offers Deaf Outreach and Services including: a full range of adaptive technology for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing residents; a universally designed facility; and a full-time, ASL proficient social worker for services to d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing survivors of domestic violence.
