Mission
The American Sign Language Court Interpretation Task Force aims to ensure effective communication for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals in all legal proceedings through the provision of qualified sign language interpreters as required by Federal, State and local law.
Vision
In our society, we believe all Deaf and hard of hearing individuals have a right to fully participate in court proceedings. The American Sign Language Court Interpretation Task Force seeks to improve access so that Deaf and hard of hearing individuals can exercise these rights and responsibility fully. This access can only be provided by establishing a system for ensuring that qualified, effective and knowledgeable court interpreters are readily available and routinely provided to our court community.
