THE ARTISTS COLLECTIVE FOR SOCIAL CHANGE, INC.

Morris County Residency

Lost without my father;
My mother a drug addict.
Taking care of my siblings is hard
but every day I take it.
Day in and day out.
Look at the world around you and don’t take it for granted.
Take what you got and love it.
Love who you are and the people who love you for you.
What more can I do?
I’m only a child myself.
I can’t make a difference at least that is what I’ve been told.
But I know deep down I can be the change for someone
Someplace
  Some how.

Dramatist Mark Levine and puppeteer Leslie Strongwater team-taught acting and art making exercises to help students shape the personalities of their masks.  The children participated in physical exercises that helped them understand identity from the abstract to the personal and then guided them through drawing and writing activities about their characters.
