| United Way Day of Caring

Thank you to the United Way of Westmoreland County for choosing the YWCA as one of the Day of Caring sites for 2006. Not only were we lucky enough to have volunteers come to the YWCA headquarters but we also had volunteers spend the day working at the YWCA Thrift Shop. Members from the United Way Board of Directors were send to the YWCA mansion and were put to work painting the downstairs ballroom. The ballroom is used for various classes such as Swing Dancing and Aerobics and is home to the Girls Project Summer Camp during June, July and August. The Thrift Shop welcomed 3 women from Lowes. The ladies worked hard pulling outdated stock from the store racks and got the Halloween merchandise ready for display.
