Goals for Open Space and Recreation in the Williamson Valley include the development of an open space master plan and the preservation of open space within the Corridor.
There is a large amount of open space (much of it State Trust Land) in the Williamson Valley Corridor area (National Forest Lands abut the Corridor to the West), and this provides many opportunities for recreational activities. Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and hunting are a few of the activities that abound. Public parks, public trails and trailheads, the problem of illegal dumping, and the important enforcement of dark sky ordinances are discussed in the WVCP.
