The Association has regularly assisted many American college and university choral societies on tour in finding appropriate venues in and around Florence.
As part of the hospitality and spirit of exchange of the two sister cities, Florence and Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Boys
Choir and Chorale performed at the inauguration of “Splendor of Florence” in Philadelphia in 2001 and was subsequently invited by the City of Florence to perform and visit in 2002. In June of 2002, the Association, together with the City of Florence, found accommodation for the group and organized a series of five concerts for the Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale; at the end of their tour they gave a special benefit concert at Santa Maria Novella, organized by the Association together with A.I.L., the Italian Association against leukaemia, lymphomas and myelomas.
In the same spirit of exchange, in October 2001 and October 2004, young musicians from the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole participated in “Splendor of Florence” together with Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music and the Stuyvesant High School Orchestra, as an integral part of the various musical events offered during each Festival.
