Pier Luigi Cecioni went from Florence to the USA at age 18 to attend Emory University on a Rotary scholarship. After four years he obtained a degree in Mathematics. He continued his mathematical studies in Sweden and then graduated in Economics from the University of Florence.
Cecioni has translated several dozen books. He has written five books on personal computers—one the best seller in Italy for some months—countless articles and has been publisher and editor of magazines on classical music, bridge, nature, agriculture. He published Tuttouncinetto, one of Italy’s most popular magazines on crochet, embroidery and knitting, and for eight years was editor-in-chief of Italy America, published by Associazione Mazzei, the “mother” of TAA. At present he is publisher of the leading Italian magazine on fly-fishing and spinning and of books, mainly on contemporary art.
For the last several years Cecioni has been involved in contemporary art working in strict contact with leading artists, critics, galleries and institutions. He is also active in classical music and served 13 years as president of the Florence Symphonietta orchestra.
As economic and financial consultant, Cecioni has been and is involved in commercial and cultural projects in Italy and between Italian and foreign enterprises, especially American.
His most recent interest is North Korean art. In May of 2007 he produced in Genoa the first large exhibition of North Korean art ever held in the West and he is the exclusive Western correspondent of the Mansudae Art Studio in Pyongyang, probably the largest art production centre in the world. He’s organizing exhibitions in several countries, also in the belief that art can be a valid instrument of knowledge of the most secluded country in the world.

Thanks to a Fulbright grant, he has got, after one year and an half in the United States of America, the Master of Public Administration at New York University (MPA 1965), with studies also in the marketing field. During the year 1978 he frequented the qualified School of management “Istud” of Stresa, namely the “ Twenty-sixth Learning Course 1978”. He has covered managerial positions at the service of a multinational private enterprise, with its headquarters in Florence, in the area of the general and commercial division.
Now he writes for some reviews, including an interesting review on-line “SaperePerFare”.

Since 2003 he is teaching Marketing at the University of Florence- Deparment of Political Science, for a post-graduated course of “Metodology and empirical research in social sciences”. In 2007 he has also taught “International Marketing” within a program of studies of an American College operating in Florence

I come from the Region Veneto, am Milanese by adoption and married to an American citizen; we are both retirees and chose to move to Florence where we have been living since the year 2000.
I pursued my Accounting School Certificate in Rovigo, Veneto Region, and I read English literature and studied economical subjects at the College of Further Education in Oxford, UK.
After my return to Italy I was hired by General Electric (G.E.) as the Secretary to the Manager Finance as well as being responsible for the “Foreign Service Employees Administration”, reporting directly to the Manager Finance.
My working career was developed in the three-year studies of the “Business Training Course” of G.E. and followed the mergers of: G.E., Olivetti-G.E., Honeywell-G.E., Honeywell Italia, Honeywell-Bull, finally Bull Italia and became the Assistant to the President.
I was a Member of I.M.A.(Institute Management Accountants) and the coordinator for the Milan Chapter.
I am a passionate reader of humanistic subjects and like studying foreign languages for my own pleasure (English, French, German, Spanish, Finnish).
In Florence I do volunteer work:
- “American International League of Florence, ONLUS”, in Florence (it is a philanthropic women’s club associated with F.A.W.C.O – Federation American Women Club Overseas). I was on the Board and then held the two-year position of President as per the Club’s Constitution.
- “Benvenuto Club of Milano”, Milano – (it is an international cultural women club) - I am a Member.
- “Tuscan American Associaion, ONLUS”, Firenze – I am a Member and Counselor.
Born in New Orleans (USA) in 1971, Hollie Grey graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern Mississippi.
The soprano has won prizes in various international voice competitions including Second Prize in the T.I.M. - International Tournament of Music - of Rome, chosen from more than 200 singers heard in auditions throughout Europe.
She was also awarded a prestigious Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Fellowship to further her opera studies in Italy. As a result, she earned a specialization diploma in vocal music -opera and art song- from the "G. Frescobaldi" Musical Institute and a diploma in translation technique from the University for Foreigners, both located in Perugia.
Described in reviews of Italian newspaper La Nazione as a “born actress and singer of great intelligence and temperament” as well as “a young soprano destined to tread upon the finest stages” Ms. Grey performs regularly both as a recitalist and on the opera stage in the U.S., Canada, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. Her vast repertoire spans from Mozart and Rossini to Verdi and Puccini and includes more than 30 roles.

Nina Peci was born in Newport Beach, California and raised in San Diego. She attended UCLA from 1982-86 and graduated with honors with a B.A. in Design and a minor in Italian Literature.
Her love of Italian culture was sparked by seeing her first Fellini movie as a freshman in college. After studying the language, she did her junior year abroad at the University of Padua and Venice where she studied art, art history and history of architecture. She was selected her graduating year for membership in the Pi Mu Iota Italian Honor Society for her promotion of Italian culture through her formation of "Ciao Italia", UCLA's first Italian language social and cultural group.
In 1988, Nina moved to Milan where she attended the prestigious Istituto Europeo di Design and received her Masters in Communication and Art Direction. She then worked in various advertising agencies and was a professor of graphics and illustration at the same Istituto.
In 1991, Nina moved to Florence to work as a designer in the editorial field. She has designed books, catalogues and magazines for some of the most prominent editors in Italy including Giunti, Alinari, Bonechi and RCS Scuola/Nuova Italia. She is currently co-owner and creative director of Media Studio, a small but efficient advertising agency and graphic design studio in the heart of Florence.
Nina has been a board member of the Tuscan-American Association since 2001 and is responsible for its marketing and image. Her proudest achievements within the association are the design and publication of the book Tuscany-United States of America: A Special Cultural and Social Relationship as well as "bringing the BBQ back" to the annual 4th of July party! She is also co-founder of the Professional Women's Committee.
Nina also speaks Spanish and French and has studied Croatian and Portuguese. Her hobbies include contemporary art, new technologies, cinema, cycling and fitness. She is also an ISSA certified personal trainer and member of the GS Badia cycling team.

Michèle Kahn Spike graduated summa cum laude, phi beta kappa, from Connecticut College and received her JD cum laude from Boston University School of Law. Since 1977 she has been a member of the Bar of the State of New York and of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She is a lawyer specializing in corporate and commercial law in the for profit and not for profit sectors and in real estate law. In 1989, Michèle moved to Florence, Italy with her husband, noted art historian, John T. Spike and their son, Nicholas.
She is the author of Matilda di Canossa: Vita di una donna che trasformò la storia (Aliberti, 2007) and Tuscan Countess: The Life and Extraordinary Times of Matilda of Canossa (Vendome, New York, 2004). She has lectured at various institutions including the Catholic University, Leuven; the Legal History Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York; Casa Italiana at New York University; the British Institute in Florence and the Accademia Virgiliana in Mantova.
She directed various documentary videos including The Convocation of American Churches in Europe, 2000, (winner, the Polly Bond Award for Excellence) and Israel / Palestine: A Diary April 29 – May 5, 2005.
She serves on the Standing Commission of the Episcopal Church for Peace with Justice Concerns.
