Support Groups at

The Children’s Therapy Center

Kidz Club - Sib Chat

Funded in part by The Valley Hospital Foundation

Kidz Club is a weekly support group for children who have physical disabilities. The group began 3 years ago when many parents started sharing that their special needs children were feeling alone and frustrated. The children were questioning being different from other kids at school, saying, “Why can’t I do that?” or, “Why do I have to go to PT? I want to go out and play.”   Kidz Club provides an opportunity for these children to openly discuss their feelings, problems they’re facing at home and school and how to deal with these issues. Every week the kids get together to talk, listen, understand and respect each other, laugh and learn.

Sib Chat is a support group for siblings of children who have physical disabilities. We offer separate Sib Chat groups for boys and girls over 8 years old and mixed groups for younger children 5-7 years old. The kids meet every other week to talk about what it’s like to have a sister or brother with special needs. Sib Chat provides a safe environment to talk about how their lives may be a little different from the lives of their friends.
