Introduction
Hi I’m Pastor Bob Farr of The Philadelphia Church. We Of the Philadelphia Church are trying to self-identify as part of the Philadelphia Church in Revelation chapter 3, Verse 7-12 And to angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things says He that is holy, He that is true, He that has the key of David, He that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens 8 I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have a little strength, And have kept My word, and have not denied My Name. 9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Sa’tan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of Temptation, Which shall come upon all the world, try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which you have, that no man take your crown. 12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, new Je-ru’sa-lem, which comes down out of heaven from My God: and My new name.
Notice in verse 7, this statement is addressed to the angel of the Church in Philadelphia. The word angel is rendered Aggelos in the Greek, Strong’s Concordance reference number 32. 1st. meaning is, messenger, one who is sent in order to announce, teach, perform, explore anything. We collectively of The Philadelphia church are that messenger! Now Jesus is the one speaking here and He is the one with this key of David that opens the Door that no Man can shut. He says, He knows our works and the works are that we have kept His words. (Every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.)
And by keeping His words we have not denied His name. In verse 9 Jesus says, Look, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan ( the false churches of the world) which say that they are Jews, (those belonging to Jehovah) and are not, but do lie; Look, I will make them to worship (Jehovah) before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. Verse 10 says, Because we have kept the word of His patience, (The word of His Patience is found in Revelation Chapter 14 verse 12, Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.) Back to Revelation chapter 3 verse 10, I also will keep you from the hour or testing which shall come upon all the world, to test them that dwell open the earth. He says, that we don’t have to be tested in the tribulation because we have already been tested, in the here and now. That does not mean we won’t be here during the tribulation. We will be ministering to those that are not yet tested. You see knowing that God is a just and merciful God, it makes no sense that the truth would not be offered before the test. We believe that God is preparing The Philadelphia Church for a great work. As messengers of truth, for a revival just before the tribulation. Now back to Revelation chapter 3 verse 11, Look, I come quickly: hold that fast which you have, that no man take your crown. 12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of My God and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, new Jerusalem which comes down out of heaven from My God; and I will right open him My new name.
