Message Need Help In Kitsap, Wife abusive to my child. was posted by Charles, on 7/5/2009 1:44:43 PM. First off let me state, I lost a protection order case last thursday, even though my wife changed her story several times. We have a 5 year old together.
My wife is currently living in Bellingham, and has temp custody of our daughter. I file for legal seperation in Kitsap county a couple of days after she took off with my kid. We have a temporary order in right now, however this weekend after picking up my daughter, my daughter told me that my wife hit her, showing me a bruise on her chin. I did what was required of me, I contacted CPS, along with my local county Sheriff's department. Previously wife had made claims that county sheriff had come out in Feb, and I was violent then, when in fact they came out in Nov 08, and arrested no one, because there was no violence. Anyway the Deputy that responded and talked to my daughter seperatly was the same Deputy that had come out in 08. They don't file reports when there is no DV, however she told me my wife was un-cooperative then (ya I know I could have really used this.) She said I guess the bruise and the claim my daughter made of my wife hitting her doesn't rise to imminent harm, so they can't take custody? Now I'm really afraid to send my daughter back, but I have no choice since it's a sunday. I won't be able to file a protection order until Monday. I need a good lawyer that's not super expensive in Kitsap. Also how do you appeal a protection order, I really don't want contact with my wife, other than talking about are child, which we can't do right now, but I think it's wrong that I'm having my civil rights suppressed for the next year, and I've committed no crime.
