COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT AWARDED   A $15,000.00 grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo was awarded to Ten Lives Club cat rescue and adoption group. The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is a public charity established by individuals, families, non-profit agencies and businesses to benefit Western New York. This grant enabled the organization to begin sponsorship of a low-cost mobile spay & neuter clinic for cats. From July through October, the mobile clinic provided sterilization surgeries and vaccinations to approximately 200 cats, operating at a site in Hamburg and, in partnership with Save-a-Pet, another local rescue group at a location in Lockport. States Ten Lives Club spokesperson Marie Edwards, “this grant helped us get established and up and running with our mobile clinic to service the many cats in need in Western New York. We are grateful to the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo for awarding us this grant so we can continue on with our mission statement of “promoting, furthering and enhancing all feline life.” We believe one of the easiest and smartest ways to do such is through spaying and neutering and vaccines which this grant made possible for us to do.”   During the winter months, clinics will continue to be offered, thanks to the SPCA serving Erie County, which has provided the use of its Angola facilities. The Board of Directors of the David J. Shenk Foundation is pleased to announce that the following organizations have been awarded grants for 2006 : Ten Lives Club will use their funds to subsidize three adoptions for senior citizens in the community.
Meghan Meghan gave up her birthday gifts this year during her birthday party with her friends and instead asked them to make a donation to Ten LIves Club to help the cats. Meghan adopted a TLC cat awhile ago and wanted to help the other cats in our program. Donations were made from Meghan and also her friends at St. Bernadette;s Elementary School. Way to go Meghan for thinking of your cats for your 8th birthday!	Amy & Melissa Amy & Melissa (child) Myers of Cheektowaga. Two local school-age supporters, pictured with a Ten Lives Club volunteer, gave up their birthday presents from their friends and instead asked that gifts and donations be given to our cat group. The cats appreciated the many gifts they ended up receiving such as toys, litter, cat food, canned food.  We thank them for giving up their birthday gifts to help out the cats!!  Way to go girls!	Boston Valley Elementary recently held a fundraiser for Ten Lives Club where they asked the students and staff to collect items for the group.  Pictured are some of the students at Boston Valley with the over 8 boxes they collected for their efforts including food, litter, towels, blankets and toys.

(Friday, July 29) Ten Lives Club (Cheryl Ludwig of Delta Sonic and myself) were on the air from 6:30 am - 8:00 am promoting our group and our cats.  We brought four cats to the studio and all were little celebrities there climbing all over the studio and even turning up the volume by cat accident for one oldies song!  We brought four of our harder to place cats there - Angie who is older, Katherine an all black cat, Wilson who is older and Tyger Doodle who is an FIV and people flip out on though NO reason too!  He is as lovable as all other cats and can lead a good, long life. Sue Nichols works at the radio station and put the good word in to get us on. Gail Ann Huber who is one of the DJ's is looking to have us on as a monthly feature.  We and the cats had alot of fun!  Thank you Oldies 104.1 and Delta Sonic!
