Dear Editor and to all the kind-hearted folks of Springville and West Valley:
Once again many, many folks have come through for the Ten Lives Club, cat rescue and adoption group. Both the Springville and West Valley folks, along with the neighboring areas, are one of our biggest financial supporters with their donations, adoptions of our cats and kittens, and support of our many fundraisers. Now we know this definitely holds true.
Dawnmarie Dains, of Springville, and a volunteer for our group was called upon this holiday weekend to help out with a rescue situation. Little did she know most of her weekend would be consumed by this amazing rescue. Nor did she know that so many good, kind people would come through in a pinch to help out. The West Valley Fire Department and all the other folks of Springville and West Valley that came forth and assisted - you are the cat’s meow in our eyes! This little kitten, whose head was wedged in the tractor, would of most certainly died without your fast and much-needed response. It is said that for every kindness you show to animals that you will be rewarded richly in life. We, as a group, truly believe this and hope that this does indeed come true for all that helped. It is also said that a society and a community is measured on how they treat their animals. Your measurements as a community in banding together for this cause are way up there!
For the person(s) who dumped these kittens, well we cannot say in print how we “exactly” feel about you and what we ”exactly” wish and hope for you. If someone truly does not want an animal, rather than hurt it or abandon it, there are rescue groups like ours or the local SPCA to handle these calls.
What matters now is that all of these dumped kittens are safe and sound in a foster home within the Ten Lives Club network. These five little kittens will cost our organization over $600.00 easily in vet bills once they each move off to their new homes. Please consider making a donation to help pay our bills!
With the loudest purr to all that help,
Marie Edwards, Founder, Ten Lives Club
