Maiden
(formally known as Diamond)
Dear Ten Lives Club,
We just wanted to thank you so much for our new addition to our household!! Maiden (formally Diamond) brings a lot of spunk and fun to our lives, and she's having a blast!! She loves to play with toys and look out the windows, and after a long day of being a cat, she loves to cuddle with us and sleep. We were suprised to find out she came from Ohio and she was a momma cat too! If it weren't for all you do, we wouldn't have found such a great pet! Thanks again... attached we have some pictures of Maiden in her new home. Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Mike and Nicky
Hank
(formally Tobias)
Dean
(formally Kandy Korn)

Not long after I sent in a photo of our beautiful Harley Quinn, our family visited Ten Lives Club to pick up a new brother for her and her sister Amidala. Immediately upon our arrival, we were chosen by Kandy Korn, an adorable orange tabby who was totally convinced he was going home with us, so who were we to argue? There were so many cats in need of a home at the shelter that we decided that we could manage one more, so we looked for another potential family member. Kandy Korn stepped in again and made the choice for us, showing a fondness for Tobias, a sweet but shy gray tabby.
My husband immediately noticed that they bore a strong physical resemblance to the title characters on a cartoon show called The Venture Bros. that a friend of ours works on. So, before we even left the shelter, they had been rechristened Dean and Hank. Dean made himself at home the minute he arrived. He was thrilled to come into a house filled with kitty toys. It took Hank a little longer, but he's now joining everyone else on our bed at night, and helping me make breakfast every morning.
For their part, the girls weren't too sure about the newcomers at first, but things have warmed up considerably. You can almost hear a chorus of "Hello Dolly" as the boys greet Harley with kisses when she walks in the room. Ammy was tougher to win over, but she reluctantly has decided that they're okay... as long as they leave her plush bunnies alone. We even occasionally catch her curled up with one of her new brothers, but I think she's hoping we don't notice.
We owe another debt of thanks to Ten Lives Club for taking such good care of our little ones until we finally met, as we were meant to.
HARLEY QUINN

On Labor Day weekend a few years ago we adopted Molly; a gorgeous
black cat who adored Dad and his human Big Brother. She was a little skittish with Mom and with women in general.
She was quickly rechristened Harleen Annabelle Quinzel or
Harley Quinn for short. The name change was somehow prophetic as comedy was to play a very important part in her life.
The first few months we tried just about everything we could think of to help her through her fear. When relief finally came, it was from a totally unexpected source. Mom loves to watch "I Love Lucy" reruns... And so,
as it turns out does Harley! We don't know exactly what it is about Lucy that she finds comforting, but as soon as she hears the opening theme song she comes running into the room. We started having "Lucy Time" with Harley and before long she and Mom were snuggling up together in front of the TV.
Big Brother took it even one step further. Doing his best Desi Arnaz impression he says, "No Harley, you can't be in the show" to which Harley responds with a very Lucy-like "Waaah!" We're extremely grateful to the Ten Lives Club for bringing this little angel into our family. Words
can't express the joy she's given us.

Jim Beam
(and his new brother Thomas)

Hi Ten Lives,
My name is Jim Beam. My Mom calls me Jimmy or sometimes Beanie. I want to thank Ten Lives and Marie for taking care of me for 8 months. I thought I would never get adopted but then finally it happened. Now I have a brother Thomas, that also came from TLC and a sister named Emily, a calico cat. She is camera shy. My brother and I play and snuggle together. I just love it here, Every night my Mom gives us treats. I sure do love my treats. I live with a golden retriever too. At first I didn't like him but I do now. If it wasn't for TLC and Marie, I wouldn't have this great place to live.
Sassie (aka Nora) and Bandit

Just wanted to let you know that we are so happy to have Sassie(Formally Nora) and Bandit as part of our family. They are so much fun!
Gilbert
We just wanted to say thank you for our 2 amazing babies: Suzie (aka Zig Zag - adopted 12/30/06) and Gilbert (adopted - 3/21/08). Gilbert loves when there’s company, while Suzie tends to only peek her head out every now and then. However, they both are the best cuddlers in the world. They both sleep with Mike and I in bed every night (and sleep in with me until noon every Saturday). They have complemented our family so well.
Michelle and Mike
Allie

This is our newest addition, Allie (Halie) who came to us even though we were not looking for a new addition. We were working at the Clubhouse in Dana's Room and she popped out from under a couch and squeeked at us. I picked her up and she cuddled right in then turned to Daddy and reached out to him. She adopted us! She blended right in to our family of 7 cats and one dog. Allie is just the best, she's smart, affectionate, sweet and brave. She stands right up to the bigger kittiees, she's only six pounds full grown, and plays with everyone, even the grumpy cat, Smokey. You just never know when something wonderful may happen. Who knew when we came to volunteeer that our family would increase! Thanks, Ten Lives for the wonderful work you do.
Kathy and Joe Cartonia, Nevada, Skye, Smokey, Sabrina, Candi, Benny, Tabitha, Allie and Charlie the beagle.
Dusty Rose
(formally known as Dusty)

Hi! My name is Dusty Rose (A.K.A. Dusty). I was brought to Ten Lives from the Buffalo S.P.C.A because there was no room for me. Several months later, Ten Lives sent me to PetsMart to find a new home. After countless people shaking my cage and sticking their fingers in to poke at me, I decided to take matters into my own paws. I needed to find just the right person to love me. A few days passed and there she was.I waited for her to pass by and then I reached out of the cage as far as I could and grabbed her. She stopped and scratched under my ears ( just how I like it ) and talked to me in a quiet voice. Then all of a sudden she walked away. Heh! Where are you going? Come back! Come back! I sank back deep into the cage sadden by the fact she didn't want me.Two days later I heard her voice and there she was. I couldn't believe it. She did want me! Now I have a great home with two sisters and two brothers who I love to chase all over the house. We have so many toys and windows in every room to look out at the birds. I am one happy cat. My new mom says I won the kitty lottery. Thanks Ten Lives for finding me a home.
Love,
Dusty Rose
Thomas
(formally known as Kevin)
Just thought I would drop you a note and say how well Thomas is doing (formally known as Kevin). He is a great cat. He is very lovable and he loves to snoop. He gets along very well with the dog; a golden retriever, and the calico cat. It took him a few days to get to know the dog, but they are best friends now. He is getting spoiled rotten! He loves to sit in the kitchen window to watch and talk to the birds. He has me laughing every day. I am so glad that we found each other.

Link
(formally known as Rogue)
Hi to all my fellow TLC cats, this is Link. I was with TLC since March 2007 and was being fostered by a wonderful family, who now has decided to adopt me! I love my new parents and younger brother Tigger, and also my older sister Snoop. My parents love to spoil me and my siblings! I love to spend my mornings lounging around the house with Tigger and Snoop. Later on when my parents get home it’s play time! And when it’s time for bed I love to snuggle with my parents! Here is a picture of me and my brother Tigger just relaxing on our cat tree! I am the one on the bottom and Tigger is on top! So much love, fun and treats, plus a brother and sister to play with, who could ask for a better forever home!
Peedy
(formally known as Repeat)
Hello, my name was Repeat and I was adopted in May 2007. I am now
called Peedy and I love my new home with my brothers Snoopy and Gizmo. I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me until I found my new home. Oh yes, have a Merry Christmas!
Peedy's brothers
Gizmo and Snoopy
APOLLO
We now have a 5 month old gray striped monster! His new name is Apollo (formerly "Lightning"). Huge tall ears, long neck, and black paw pads make us think he has something in him other than common domestic short hair. He has taken our house by storm. Our 9 year old cat is very much annoyed with this situation- but it is also early in the relationship. It would also help if Apollo would stop literally getting into Muffin's face! He's just curious, and not at all scared- which of course seems to be scaring Muffin. We are being cautious because of the size difference- the older cat is huge (18 pounds) and Apollo is so little in comparison.
The 10 Lives Club was a good place to go because of how you can interact with the cats. The cats just roam freely in the room, and you can just sit on the sofa and see which ones approach you for some attention. These cats all do a pretty good job of selling themselves to you ! Thanks for referring us to the 10 Lives Club. My daughter is thrilled with her new buddy
Highway

To my heroes…Marie & Ten Lives Volunteers,
Thank you so much for taking me in and caring for me until my forever family adopted me. Although I was only with you a short time, I will always be grateful to you. I love my new Mom and Dad and all my feline siblings that includes CopyCat. Ten Lives also rescued CopyCat so we have a lot in common. I hope all the kitties at the shelter will be as lucky as we are and find forever families.

Wilson
(formally known as Roquefort)

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know how Roquefort is doing. We adopted him from the Walden Ave Pet Smart on a Sunday afternoon several weeks ago this summer. Your Volunteer was wonderful at going out of her way on a Sunday afternoon to meet us there so we could adopt this wonderful cat. I cannot remember her name unfortunately.
Roquefort is doing great! His name now is Wilson and he responds to his new name. He is very loveable and playful and is obviously happy with his new home. He responds to commands better than our dog does. (He gets along with our dog, Mugger by the way...Mugger is also adopted.) As I am typing this e-mail Wilson,AKA Roquefort, is laying on the computer desk purring very loudly. He is very sweet and greets us every morning with a tiny little mew and nodding of his head...I was surprised to see when we got his paperwork in the mail that he came from Kentucky. So he has had quite a few stops along the way to our house. He is a very happy boy.
Thank you for the work you do at giving these wonderful creatures a chance at a good life...
Sincerely,
Shirley

Angel
Me and my husband about 3 months ago
adopted a cat from you guys
her name was Angel. Since then she has brought so
much love and happiness to
us. She is so lovable and sweet and gives lots of
attention. Thank you so
much for giving us the chance to adopt her, she is
our baby forever!!!
Odin
Thank You Ten Lives Club !! You saved my life bytaking me in, removing the BB from my shoulder andcuring the neck worm virus I had when I came to you
only a few weeks old. You called me Braveheart and Isure was. My mom and dad call me Odin now and I'm big and strong. I'm 2 years old,14 lbs. and I just
love to cuddle and kiss mom and dad's faces and play with my brother and sisters. I just wanted to say Thank You again, I wouldn't be here today if itweren't for all of you.
Chloe

I adopted Chloe (formerly Cider) from 10 Lives Club in October 2003 or
so. She is a darling little kitty and made the last days of my sick
cat, Winky, delightful. He perked up and even let her clean his head.
Chloe lives with a big black cat named Magic and was later joined by her
"sister" Olivia. The two girls are about the same size so they run
and play a lot together. Magic likes to oversee the activity.Chloe is
such a happy little thing and she brings tremendous joy to my life. I
almost walked away at the time thinking "3 is too many and too
stressful for Winky." What a mistake that would have been. She is my sweet
little orange girl and I look forward to her silly wake up antics every
morning. I love the pictures I attached. The first is when she was
little and the second is as an adult. See how adorable she is!??!? The
third the whole crew. Hmmm...maybe Magic needs a "brother"?
Thank you for all you do and thank you for giving me the privilege of
caring for a tender feline soul.
Carol
Maytag
HIDDEN TREASURE
Anyone who has been at the Global Headquarters knows Maytag A.K.A. Miss Cranky Pants. Maytag once kept herself perched on the copier then later relocated to the table in front. She was not of the friendliest nature and would swat, hiss and bite at you as you approached her. She would have her moments when she would let you pet her gently by the ears but only on her terms and when she had enough she was quick to let you know it. This beautiful cat was not an easy adopt with her disposition. I always had a soft spot for her and would take the time each time I was in the shelter to give her some extra attention and love. I had become so attached and concerned for this cat and told my husband all I wanted for Christmas was to get her out of that shelter. In the past, my husband has been resistant to bringing home more cats due to having to put 3 down to illnesses last year. He had told me to go bring her home.
The first night at her new home she was her typical cranky self and let my 85 lb. dog know who was in charge now. She is now adjusting well to the dog and the other 3 cats. She will let you pick her up and carry her around the house as you pet her and she purrs away. We don’t even get swatted at anymore. Instead of being huddled on the table as a scared stressed out cat, she now rests lovingly on our laps purring and rubbing for more attention. You never know what kind of “hidden treasure” you will find. I am glad I found this one.

Leonard
Charlie
|
The day we saw Leonard at the pet store, we were actually there to buy birdseed and look at the parakeets, not adopt a cat. Leonard managed to capture our hearts the moment we approached him. We brought him home a few days later and we are so very glad we did!
Leonard is so affectionate and sweet. I can't believe he lived in Little Jake's shelter for more than a year without someone adopting him! Leonardsettled in well in his new home, bit itseemed as ifhe missedall his Little Jake's cat buddies (the parakeets are just no fun when they are safe high up in their cages). Sixweeks after adopting Leonard,we went to Little Jake'sand came home with Charlie (formerly Tommy). Charlie isa playful little purr machine who loves to give us kisses. He and Leonard are still learning howto get along, but they love to play with us every evening and snuggle up together by the picture window for their afternoon nap. Charlie and Leonard are both FIV-positive. You would never, ever know they carry this virus by looking at them. They are healthy and very active.
I would like to encourage anyone reading this to go ahead, do your research and thenand adopt an FIV-positive kitty. Better yet, adopt two! Thank you Ten Livesfirst of all for rescuing Charlie and Leonard, and then for taking care of themuntil they could find us. We arehappy to have them in our lives. |

Chevy and Capri - Reunited!
|
Chevy (formerly known as Toyota) and Capri were surrendered to the SPCA with a number of other feline housemates. Their owner had too many cats and couldn't care for them anymore. They were brought into the TLC program in April 2006 because the SPCA did not have room for them. During the following six months, all of Chevy's and Capri's housemates were adopted. Chevy and Capri were very shy, except to those people whom they got to know on a regular basis. At shows, they would hide in the back of their cages. When people would visit the shelter to adopt, they would hide behind the furniture. In November, Chevy was taken into foster care. His foster parents fell in love with him and had to adopt him themselves. Four months later, with Capri's one-year TLC anniversary fast approaching, Chevy's foster home felt sorry for her and brought her home with them. The foster home has fallen in love with her and will be adopting her, too! |

Leo (formally known as Mr. Love)

|
We've had Mr Love – NKA Leo for a little over two weeks now and things are working out great! We love him to pieces and he's the perfect first cat for us. Mellow, yet very social and loving.
In researching for my first cat, the only criteria I had was that I wanted a female cat – with two male dogs I thought it would be “safer” with a female. Guess what? I ended up with another male because I had such a connection with this guy. I never thought I'd end up with a 13 year old, FIV+ male cat. I'm glad I went with my heart because he is a perfect fit for us and he is very happy too. He is healthy and active, and besides a few little bumps on the skin and a few less teeth, he is like any other cat. I enclosed a couple photos.
Thanks to Janine and all the others at Ten Lives who helped me make an informed decision.

Callie
|
I thought that you might like to know that Callie is doing great here at her new home. This picture was taken just a few hours after we brought her home. She loves the guest bedroom and laying on the pillows on the bed. There is also a kitty window seat attached to one of the windows in this room...she seems to be quite fond of that as well. If she is not sleeping on the pillow she is on the window seat. |
Red & his K-9 Friend
|
It has been about a year since I adopted Red from the Ten Lives Club and now I could not imagine life without him. I wish I would have adopted him sooner because he makes everyday better. This is the first cat that I have ever owned.I never knew that cats made such wonderful pets.Red is friendly, affectionate and gets along great with my dog. They play together and keep each other company. I would like to thank the Ten Lives Club for all that you do and for giving Red a second chance in life.

Roxie and (non-TLC) friend Disco
|
Hello everyone at Jake's Place!
I'm writing to give you an update on our sweet dark seal point Siamese girl that I adopted from Jake's in late September. Roxie is doing GREAT and she's very happy in her new home with her new little friend Disco (who we had before her, but is slightly younger). The get along great - she's happy and healthy and very loving. She loves to play with her toys and with her little sister, and she LOVES to eat! She's gained a good amount of weight since she's been home with us - her coat is looking very nice also and her eyes are nice and bright! So overall, I just wanted you to know that she's doing wonderful. Thank you so much for rescuing such a nice girl so that we could take her home and give her a nice place to call her own.? We think your organization is great :)Thanks again!

Ridge and Thorn
|
Hello to all our friends!! We were adopted a little over a year ago from Jake's Place, then we were named Chester and Charles, but now we are Ridge & Thorn (named after our Grandma's favorite characters in the soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful). We are sooo happy at our new home. We have a big sun porch we love to sleep in all day. Our favorite thing to do is to chase the flying discs that Daddy sends across the living room, and of course we love to sleep on Mommy. We love our home and have become quite comfortable! We just wanted to say hi to all of our friends and let them know we're doing well!! P.S. Ridge still likes to lick your face at every opportunity, even if it's 3am! |
Chantal & Callista
|
Hello all you cat lovers! I have a wonderful story to share with you all. Do you remember the lovely affectionate that was with TLC for quite some time? Well she has a good home along with her sister Callista. Here is how it happened......My name is Ann Bednarek and I am a volunteer for TLC. I sent a picture of Chantal to my friend Diane Ham because she used to have a kitty that looked like Chantal that went to "Rainbow Bridge." When Diane saw her picture, she really wanted her. Well she had already adopted Callista (Chantal's sister) and decided she had to have them both. Well Friday evening we went to Jake's Place and picked up Chantal. Diane and Chantal bonded immediately. Now Diane had Callista for a couple days already and most of that time Callista did alot of hiding. Well what a happy ending this turned out to be...........as soon as we got to Diane's and let Chantal out of her traveling crate she started meowing and Callista recognized her meow and came out of her hiding spot and went right over to Chantal and they kissed. Such a beautiful reunion. The sisters are now together again and very happy. Callista no longer hides. I guess she was depressed and missed her sister very much. Talk about a "Happy Tail" |

CopyCat (formally known as Snowcone)
|
Dear Marie & Ten Lives Club Members: Thank you so much for rescuing Snowcone (now known as CopyCat) and providing a shelter for him. Your efforts made it possible for my husband and I to adopt him into our family. How fitting that he is posed next to the statue won at a Furball Silent Auction. He is such an energetic, inquisitive and loving cat. We are so happy to have him. Our two older cats (Little One & Precious who is also white with odd eyes) realize they have a new friend too! Sincerely, Kris & Al Jablonski |
Sasha
and
Sunshine

|

Zoey (formally known as Pitch)

"Zoey (formerly known as Pitch) is know getting spoiled rotten by her new owner Lindsey! They absolutely love her, and are happy to have the chance to have her in their life."

Huey
|
I finally found the time to thank you guys for introducing us to Huey
(formerly known as Houston). We first met him at the West Seneca PetCo, where my 8 year old son fell in love with him. One day later we were back and took Huey home with us.
While the two "old ladies" of the house (our cats Mosie and Lulu, age 1) didn't warm up to Huey right away, he made himself right at home. He loves being outside with his leash and harness (supervised, of course!) or lounging in the window! He is also the most ferocious snuggler I've ever met. He rubs his head our mine as often as he gets a chance (and we are working on getting carried away and biting me in the nose :) and purrs loud enough to wake me up at night.
Thank you so much, TLC, for bringing this special guy into our life! Keep up the great work! Sincerely, Britta McCarthy |
Voodoo & Salem
|
I just wanted to send you a quick note and say thank you once again! The cats are doing wonderfully! Voodoo is the most amazingly laid back cat and Salem (used to be known as "Charlotte") is a little ball of fluffy energy. They have added so much fun to our home and neither I nor my fiance can remember what life was like without them. Our two "bewitched" kitties, as we like to call them, play together and care for each other like non other I've ever seen. And they both love to play with, and sometimes gang up and torment, our dogs. :) > I've attached a couple of pictures, we're just such proud kitty parents. Thanks so much again! The Ten Lives Club is wonderful!
|
|
|
We adopted him from Community Pet as a result of a rescuefrom Ohio. He is such an affectionate and energetickitty, my parents and I couldn't be happier with him! Everyday we watch him try something new and we are always sharing stories about him with our friends and family. He sleepson my bed every night, even though he has his own bed next to mine. Getting used to having a kitten around has been a bitof an adjustment, but Ty has made it all worth while. I work for Delta Sonic and we help theTen Lives Club with their effort to rescue cats and kittens. In our office we have three catsthat were rescued from various situations and they are doing great. I have recommended Ten Lives Club to anyone who is looking for a cat orkittenand I hope that people realize every little bit helps. Each cat that is adopted helps to alleviate the large population of strays that still exist. |
Citrine & Emerald
|
Here we are, as you requested. Our human is really a
very nice person. We won't tell her, but we can tell you,
she is sooo under our control. We dictate what happens
around here! 10 Lives is a wonderful organization! We are all pretty
happy that you cared for us until we found Cheryl.
We were not sure that we would stick around, but she seems
to be working out fine. We'll end for now, be watching for an
occasional hello from us.
Love to all

Cosmo and Bacchus
|
Just a quick note to update you guys on our funny friends. First we'd like to thank you for
getting them started! You must have done a great job, because they come to our home quite socialized. They are loving, affectionate + friendly...not to mention beautiful! They have grown up so quickly in 4 months; they're now both 7 lbs. a piece. We refer to them as teenagers! They love to play together, wrestling appers to be one of their favorite activities, it's rather entertaining to watch them spar. Ron has constructed them several toys, scratching posts, climbing posts + simply put, boxes taped together to make "forts." He made a large climbing post in the basement that goes up to the ceiling, it has all sorts of cubbies, ramps off of it, + toys hanging from it. I think it's one of their favorites. We have given them names once again. They are Cosmo (alpha) + Bacchus (Scruffy + Fluffy). Cosmo purrs + talks to you, or anyone else for that matter, frequently. Extremely gregarious...a very happy cat. Bacchus on the other hand, is a bit more reserved. Just a bit more shy + careful, but equally a nice kitty + a wonderful companion.
They are typical cats, they love to play, sleep + eat. We're slowly weaning them from wet food.
Occassionally we'll give them a taste of people food (they're a bit spoiled) usually a tiny piece of filet or some fresh seafood. Some of their favorite toys are wine corks + earplugs ( I work nights so I wear them a lot). Ear plugs are probably their favorite. One day Ron found 5 of them in a shoe in the basement. Evidently one of them was hiding them in there!
Again we thank you for acclamating them into the human world!
Sincerely, Kathy + Ron Koza |
Sassy
|
I just want to drop you a note to thank you for allowing me to adopt Sassy from Corey and the Ten Lives Club. She is absolutely wonderful. She is exactly what I wanted in a cat. Super affectionate, not timid, not moody, never mean, loves kids, plays, doesn’t have “bad” habits, not a fussy eater, etc. I could really go on and on It’s funny because when you adopt an animal, as you well know, there is no telling how it will be. I am thankful that Corey made my wife and I at ease and comfortable with her information regarding adoption, return, etc. I will recommend Ten Lives Club to everybody that I speak with that is considering getting a cat or kitten.
Thank you.

Hamlet
|
I adopted "Lucky Star" on October 11, 2004 at Pet Supplies Plus.
I just wanted to thank you guys so much and tell you how he's doing.
I named him Hamlet, and we call him "Hammi". I swear he knows
his name, he comes running everytime I call him! The first night he slept right on my face, he loves to snuggle and talk to me. He loves to teasethe dog and their so cute when they eat together, he just loves his food! Hamlet just loves his new home and we love him so much!!! |
Mango
|
I adopted Mango through Amy about a week ago (July 2004).I just wanted to take the time to let you know that Mango is avery happy kitty! He really is the most loveable playful cat! Sometimes, I really believe that he thinks that he is a dog! He is always at my feet, he likes to sleep stretched out on his back in the middle of the living room floor while I relax in the evening, and if my alarm clock goes off too long in the morning, he will wake me up! (honest!) He has been so much fun and I haven't heard him sneeze or cough more than 3 times since I brought him home.
I had to let my 13 year old dog named Harley, (she was a German Shepherd/Husky mix), go this past April. It has been really sad without her. I am single, live by myself, I work full time and I am
going to school, Bringing Mango home has brightened my days! I feel like Harley found Mango for me! (I know that sounds silly) Anyways, I want to thank you for contributing to my little bit of
sunshine that I found in this orange kitty named Mango! The name fits him perfect, I couldn't change it) Thank you so much and I will always refer people to you. It is wonderful what
you people do for these cats! To bad that there aren't more people like you! Take care |

|
Thank you Ten Lives Club for placing me with my family! I don't know what Derrick and Amanda did before I came to live with them in May 2004. I wake up Amanda every morning at 6am to take her medicine and feed me breakfast. Later, I "help" Derrick make the bed by attacking the sheets and blankets when they move. I even helped wrap Christmas presents!
In my spare time, I like to chase anything that moves and scratch my scratching post. At the end of a hard day, I go to bed and sleep at Amanda's feet.
On holidays, I travel with Derrick and Amanda to Pennsylvania to visit my cousin Bo. We play together and chase each other around the house. We've even managed to knock a few knick nacs off the coffee table! Because I like my cousin Bo so much, Derrick and Amanda might adopt another kitty to be my brother or sister! |
Patrick
|
Patrick is a 6-year old male. He was scheduled to be
euthanized by the Catauqua County Humane Society,
so Ten Lives Club rescued him. Potential adoptors paid
little attention to Patrick. None of TLC's members understood
why nobody was interested in adopting him. He was such a great cat! Apparently, Patrick was waiting for the right person to come along. He was adopted as part of our senior program. His new owner loves him. He sits with her in her recliner, nestled in the crook of her arm. Even though she has air conditioning, she leaves the window open for him because he has such a good time watching the world. He fetches his toy mouse and brings it back to her repeatedly, so she can throw it again. He crawls under the covers when it is bedtime, and only leaves his face peeking out. For Patrick, this home was well worth the wait! |
Wolf
|
I adopted Wolf on Halloween and I have to say that
I think he was just waiting for us to come along. He was a
surprise to my husband but they took to each other right away.
We had not had an animal together because of our
work schedules but now my husband is retired and I will retire
soon.Wolf seemed at home right away and slept in our bed
the very first night. He spends his days in a sunny window
next to my husbands chair (when he isn't in the chair with him).
He is just a great cat for us, very friendly and laid back.
Thank you Ten Lives. We love our new addition.

Mylo
|
Mylo is an 11-year old male kitty that was surrendered
when his owner moved out of town. The condo she was
moving into did not allow cats. She was heart-broken to
have to surrender her baby of 11 years! Mylo was very unhappy
at the shelter. He resorted to hiding under a bed and layers of
blankets. He wouldn't even show his face. After spending time
in a foster home by himself, it was discovered that Mylo was a
very sweet and loving kitty who loved to "talk" and sit on your lap.
His behavior was completely different when he was separated
from other kitties. Mylo was very lucky that a cat-lover was willing
to give him a chance - sight unseen!
"Rest assured that Mylo is doing just fine. It took him two days to
warm up to his new surroundings but he is an absolute dream
for my mother-in-law! He spends a considerable time on her lap
and enjoys a daily brushing in the afternoon. He sleeps on her
feet and waits for her to wake every morning. He is a very good
friend for her and she just loves him to pieces. They have become
a real pair! She never leaves his name off any card she sends.
Thank you so much for all you do with the Ten Lives Club.
Your club has made a very lonely woman very happy again

Goldie
|
I adopted Parker (now known as Goldie) on June 18 2004. I looked for months for a DLH orange male and thru TLC found my man! He was a pretty sick kitty, and the day I met him he sat by himself in the corner of the cage like a little lost soul. It broke my heart,so of course I took him home. This kitty is one of the smartest cats I've had ! He plays fetch with his favorite ball...brings it right back & drops it in my hand. Every night when I get ready for bed,no matter what time, he knows..and he races me to the bedroom, jumps on the bed and goes up near the pillows and works the comforter down with his feet! He helps pull down the bed!! He sleeps w/ me every nite up near my face where I spend more time kissing & petting him than I do sleeping! (husbands jealous!!) He is such a sweetie,& I love him to death. God forbid I walk past him at all cuz he'll reach up and grab my pant leg as to say HEY! I'm down here! I have 6 other cats, but he's special. Thanks to TLC for all thay do for these animals. You are wonderful people and you make the world a better place ! Keep up the good work and may God bless you all. Shelley Wagner |

Oh Marie, I can't tell you how much in love I am with our Munchkin (formerly Tres)! She is a perfect fit to our family. As I write this, she is sitting on my lap with her paws on my shoulder just loving me...and I am eating it up!Her first night here, she slept in bed with us..six in bed is a tight fit, but she didn't seem to mind. She is wonderful with the basset hounds and our cat, Marshmallow.I knew the second we laid eyes on her at Pet Supplies Plus that she was the one. All she wants to do is give loveand be loved, I can't imagine why someone would part with such
a doll. I was wondering if you had a minute to look that up and let me know, I am very curious, I can't figure it out.My husband is out of town for 7 days and every day he calls and says "I can't wait to get home to my princess." Amazing, I've been married 5 years and have never been called princess. She is here for 48 hours and she is already a princess.
How do you like that?I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time with us on Saturday. You all do such wonderful work and your organization is very professional, friendly, and efficient. Thank you for the wonderful gift you have given us. |
Angel
|
We adopted Angel (formerly named Tammy) on May 1, 2004.
She had been scheduled to euthanized at the Chautauqua Humane Society but was rescued by Ten Lives Club. Her former owner had never combed her out, so as a Persian she had terrible matting, which we spent 2-3 hours a night trying to comb out until she had her furr shaved down. We fostered her for one night and fell in love with her, adopting her the following day. She loves to be held, and can be held like a baby, on her back. She has a favorite catnip toy in the shape of a moon and star, that she carries with her around the house. She has gotten the nickname of "Angel Fuzz" because of her furr, and loves being brushed and groomed. She is a doll. Her vet and the vet techs all say that her name fits her perfectly as she has a beautiful personality. She gets along very well with our other 4 kitties, and has become bestfriends with "Jelly" (nickname for Angelica) our faded Calico. She also arrived trained in how to use her scratch post, no training needed. We love her and she is our precious Angel
baby.

Cream Puff
|
Cream Puff is a 13-year old male that was surrendered when his owner died. The attorney handling the estate brought him to Ten Lives Club because the owner had no family or friends
to care for him. Cream Puff was so traumatized by his life-change,
that he stopped eating. Lucky for him, a kind-hearted woman was
willing to give him a chance. He was adopted and given to her
mother-in-law as a Mother's Day gift.
"Just wanted to let you know that Cream Puff is settling in more
and more and doing well. He is quite the little eater now and is
really coming out if his shell with all of us. My mother-in-law is just
thrilled with him. We all couldn't be more pleased with him.
Thanks!" - Cream Puff's Adoptor

Harley
|
"In February of 2004 I adopted one of your kittens
through Springville Animal Hospital. His name is Harley and he
has been so much fun to have. Everytime I turn around he always
makes me laugh because his is doing something ridiculous.
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and love
Harley and his little antics. Harley is a great companion and
I wouldn't change that for the world. Thanks for bringing a great
companion into my life".
Sincerely,
Claire Faulring

At the cat shelter was Al, Who was a two-year old male. He hid under the couch, So nobody could touch, Even the tip of his tail.
Amy and Chris went one day, To the cat shelter to play. Getting down on their knee, What did both of them see? A cat who wanted to stay.
Home did all three of them go, Changing Al's name to Elmo. Chasing his tail each night, He's a humerous sight. Amy and Chris love him so! |

JUST WANTED TO DROP A NOTE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I ENJOYED THAT COLUMN FROM "MISS MUNCHKIN." I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS ORIGINAL AND FROM A "CATS" POINT OF VIEW FUNNY.
I TOO HAVE A FEMALE CAT THAT'S AN ALUMNI FROM TEN LIVES. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HER AND TOOK HER HOME APPROXIMATELY 2 YRS AGO. SHE'S SUCH A GOOD CAT AND A LOVABLE COMPANION. SHE'S COMPANY FOR MY MALE CAT THAT IS STILL TRYING TO LET HER KNOW THAT MY HOME IS HIS DOMAIN, BUT THEY GET ALONG VERY WELL. HER GIVEN NAME WAS CE CE, BUT I NOW CALL HER NIKKI. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A DOG OWNER BUT AFTER SURGERY I WAS persuaded TO BECOME A CAT OWNER. NEVER THOUGHT THAT I'D BE A CAT OWNER, BUT NOW THAT I OWN TWO CATS THEY'RE 4 YRS OLD. I DON'T THINK I'D EVER GO BACK TO OWNING A DOG. I LOVE DOGS, BUT THEY'RE TOO MUCH WORK FOR ME.
JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT "TEN LIVES" HAS OPENED A "PURR"-FECT LIFE FOR ME AND I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THAT. |
Bradley

|
We just wanted to drop you a note and tell you how much we love Bradley!. He is such a good kitty and we love having him in our home. No...you cant have him back!. He is quite comfortable and happy here.
Between the 4 of us someone is always playing, petting, cuddling and talking to him. One thing he doesn't like is when we all go out and no one is at home to pay attention to him. He waits by the door for us!
We bought him a new bed so he can be with us in our family room and then he has one in the bedroom with us. He gets on the bed for a little while but then he get down to his bed. I have some fresh catnip growing for him and its almost ready to be tasted!
Thank You very much for letting us have Bradley!

Tyler and Lily (formally known as Tiggerific and Trudy).
|
Lauren and I adopted Tyler and Lily (formerly Tiggerific and Trudy) the same day they came into Ten Lives from Kentucky. Our lives have not been the same since. Tyler is by far the most loveable cat I have ever had in my life. He literally hugs you when you pick him up by wrapping his paws around each side if your neck and squeezing. Lily has come a long way, from being super clingy to having her own quirky independent personality (don't ever try to clip her claws!) Thanks to Ten Lives for bring Tyler and Lily into our lives. These cats just make coming home worth it every day. |

Mylar
|
We received our three kittens from the Ten Lives Club almost a year ago now. Just though we'd drop you a quick note and a picture.
All are doing fine. We named the calico female Mylar, the black-and-white female Tyvek, and the black male Ozzy (the kids have decided his formal name is "Osmosis Osbourne"). Yes, we do pick unusual names!
In addition to our kittens, Laura bought a great big stuffed bear at a Ten Lives yard sale some years ago. Recently, Mylar has taken to it quite fondly - see the attached picture.
Keep on doing what you're doing, and thanks to all of your volunteers for their great work! |
