Donations on-line is a system
where a site visitor can make a donation
to your organization using a credit card
through their web browser. There are many
options you have in choosing a provider,
including costs and services provided.
At CharityAdvantage, you can
use any provider you want to handle your
donations on-line. If you would like to
take donations on-line, please read the
information below. Please be sure to also
read the disclaimer
at the end of this page.

you will learn that you do not need a
credit card merchant account to use them.
They will send you funds via electronic
funds transfer (EFT) or a paper check.
You will have access to reports via their
site, and their on-line processing is
secure.
To learn more, please visit
the donations on-line area of Network
for Good.
If you would like to consider
other providers who may charge fees for
their services, please feel free to use

Technical Process:
The technical process once
you have contracted with a provider is
as follows:
- A link to your organization's donation
page will be given to you by your
donations on-line service provider.
Let's call that link http://www.xxxxx.com
for now.
- You place the following on your
web site wherever you would like a
"Donate Now" image to appear:
<a class=links_url href="http://www.xxxxx.com"><img
src="baseimages/donate_now.gif"
border="0"></A>
- You replace http://www.xxxxx.com
with the link given to you by your
service provider
- A "Donate Now" button
will appear on your web site where
you have placed that link. Please
feel free to place this on as many
pages as you want, including your
Home page and your How You Can Help
page.
Disclaimer
You should
be aware that taking donations on-line
may be considered a solicitation of charitable
contributions subject to registration
and regulation by statute in approximately
38 states. Several of these state statutes
consider the solicitation to be made where
the donor resides, and to have occurred
whether or not a contribution is made.
Since your donation link is not limited
to a single state or states, setting up
an on-line donation system could require
your organization to register in multiple
states. You should consult with your own
legal advisor as to the necessity and
method of registering in your particular
situation. CharityAdvantage is not responsible
for assisting your organization in such
registration process or for any liability
for failure to do so properly.
To assist you in your research
and decision, please visit this area of
