SOUTH CENTRAL DISTRICT - NANBPWC, Inc.

The South Central District has instituted a recognition program called The South Central District Hope Award, with the intention of recognizing those citizens who have demonstrated support “beyond the call of duty”  for a person or entity and subsequently gave them Hope that they could succeed or move in a more positive direction.

This program is destined to be one of the avenues through which we can encourage others to give back to their respective communities and to recognize those “unsung heroes” who might otherwise be overlooked or ignored.  We are also implementing recognition of employers who demonstrate good corporate citizenship within the commmunities where they do business.

Our Youth Program, the "Y Factor" (our Youth and Beta Psi Clubs), is one of our most important programs.  It is to our Youth that the baton will be passed in order to continue our commitment to our communities and their precepts and well-being.  So it is with definitive purpose that we mentor, train and coach our Youth to enhance their social and life skills, and support them with scholarships, workshops, travel and involvement in our conferences and conventions where they can broaden their horizons.  See the The "Y" Factor for more information.

In response to the ravages of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the South Central District members responded with an all-out program to assist in every area.  New shoes were gathered from one of our partners, Shoes for Orphan Souls; services from local providers and businesses; housing, personal supplies, jobs, and money -- all collected and directly administered to those evacuees who found themselves in the cities of Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Palestine, Fort Worth, Garland and The Colony seeking refuge and solace.  We are continuing in this much-needed area of support by continuing to partner with those organizations that can readily identify those needing assistance.

Our International Program continues to grow.  After our visit to our adopted Village in the Region of Potroase, Ghana, West Africa, we are now planning to send additional funds and assistance to our new friends there.  The new well we helped fund with community support, was commissioned on that trip, and our Ambassadors shared their professional expertise as they ministered to the villagers in all the villages they visited.

This year also marks the beginning of our Project C.H.I.L.D. program which was launched on this same trip, bringing much needed contributions so that clothing, medication, books, education, and hope can be provided to the children of the Potroase Region.

Contact District International Representative Marilyn Calhoun, at  chaplain@southcentraldistrictsite.org, or marcalhoun@aol.com, or 214-388-1314 for information and contribution suggestions.
