What if Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you’ll be supporting your favorite cause.

Just go to  and be sure to enter Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Servicesas the charity you want to support. And, be sure to spread the word!

Help stop domestic violence in your community.

  • Invite a SDVSAS speaker to address a group you belong to (who would they call?)
  • Support legislation that supports battered women and their children.
  • Teach your children that no one has the right to use coercion, manipulation, or violence to wield power and control over another.
  • If you know somebody who is being abused, listen to them and believe them. Let them know that the violence is not their fault, and that there are options available to them. Give them the SDVSAS 24-hour hotline number and assure them that the call will be kept confidential.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are an integral part of our agency. We couldn't provide the level of services we currently offer without them. Here are some ways that you can volunteer your time and make a difference:

Shelter Services:

Provide advocacy-based counseling, information and referrals for shelter residents, assist with children’s activities, help sort and organize donated goods, assist with gardening, small repairs, errands, laundry and basic upkeep of buildings and grounds at the shelter.

Direct Services:

Provide advocacy-based counseling, information, resources and referrals for domestic violence and sexual assault/abuse victims and secondary victims seeking services.

Children's Advocacy:

Provide help by assisting with activities for kids at shelter or office while mom’s attend weekly House or DV group sessions.

Legal Advocacy:

Provide legal advocacy support by providing information and referrals, assisting with paperwork, providing information on how to effectively navigate the criminal justice system, offering emotional support and accompanying victims to court hearings.

Crisis Line:

Assist callers on the 24-hour crisis line (from your home through the crisis pager system) providing information, referral and advocacy-based counseling. Volunteers carry the pager for 3 consecutive days each month.
