Triple Threat Basketball Camp
(Boys and Girls - Ages 8-13)

The Triple Threat Basketball Camp is a program offered every June for youth ages 8-13. Though it is a basketball camp, the camp's focus is success both on and off the court. The camp features academic, athletic and social development. Youth participate in classroom activities prior to playing basketball, discussing topics such as: sportsmanship, basketball terminology, the history of basketball, being a team player and more. After two instructional periods, the youth engage in fundamental basketball stations. In the stations, youth learn and develop the proper technique for success. Stations include: shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, defensive drills and more.

The camp also features competitive games at the end of each day. At the end of the week, camp awards are given to the championship teams, as well as individuals that have excelled both in the class and on the court during the camp. The camp is co-sponsored by Hampton Parks and Recreation. The primary purpose of the camp is to give participants an exciting environment to learn about basketball and life and to teach them principles that will allow for success in both areas.
