SCADP’s Youth and Family Services department provides outpatient counseling for high-risk young people with substance abuse and related problems (including gang involvement, teen pregnancy/parenthood, criminal activity, behavioral, school, and emotional difficulties). Participants are referred from the courts, probation officers, as well as local schools. The three-month program provides both individual and group counseling, substance abuse education, and peer and family groups. In 2006, SCADP was awarded a prestigious adolescent treatment grant from SAMSHA - Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services to deliver a guided intervention curriculum for Latino adolescents.
