Transitional housing for men is funded through L.A. County Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). The men’s shelter program was established in Santa Fe Springs in 1996, and provides a static capacity of six beds in Santa Fe Springs and six beds in Long Beach. Positive Steps transitional housing programs offer low-cost housing for periods of up to one year, case management and social service linkage, as well as assistance with issues of mental and physical health care, substance addiction, self-sufficiency, and permanent housing.
